Description:
Well here it is. I just needed to spew out some stuff! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for listening.

Lyrics:
When I'm in this room
I try my best to live
I can't help but remember
As things go
What these times may bring

She hugs the hills
grass waves she goes
Whispers of love
Filling my sails

When I am here, I find the wind.
Please hold me close, it won't be long.
Freedom is choice, that I begin
Here in my heart, here in my song.

..ambience here reminds me of Dylan's OH MERCY album from 1987. Lovely stuff Doug.

HEY! Change-up alert! Upbeat now...nice vocals...nice leads...moody blue...

When Doug spews stuff, good music happens! Very creative piece bro!

Be well!

Outstanding &mdash 05/14/07 - 07:01:35 AM
I love the opening - great guitar work, and a terrific set of sounds going on (love the violin). Vocal reminds me of Lambchop or maybe Spiritualized. The change in tempo is unexpected, but works well. Suddenly it's almost Bowiesque. Nice guitar work throughout. This is very cool stuff. Downloaded. Nice work. Peace.

Thanks Dave &mdash 05/14/07 - 01:34:58 PM
I'm honored by your comments. The violin melody is an experiment. I'm glad you liked it. But I was anxious to get this song out and was hoping I didn't rush the lead parts a bit.

Thanks and peace!

Progression &mdash 05/14/07 - 03:26:07 PM
Enjoyable progression through the three verses. Almost ambient to rocking at the end. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for the comments. I like putting "collages" together. The challenge for me, has been developing transitions that make sense. I'm glad you liked the mix!

Peace!

I am reminded of Bowie straight away &mdash 05/14/07 - 09:46:29 PM
In the vocal delivery; and that ain't a bad thing; very well sung. Nice Guitar playing too. I like the space you've created with the soundscape.

Hey Joe &mdash 05/15/07 - 03:35:55 PM
What a nice compliment! I've been practicing becoming more melodical with my voice.

Gotta work on not rushing my lead. I always appreciate comments about guitar, too!

Thanks,
Doug

On the title - Ha! Like minds..... :) Scary,eh?

Suave bed of music you have here, 'flowing' comes to mind as I listen, especially in the intro. The break to the rock is appropriate and builds nicely.

Thanks for this, nice guitar solos.

great &mdash 05/17/07 - 11:02:11 AM
Your vocals are shy and cool. I like the ambient sound followed by the faster paced guitars. Wouldn't know how to transition between them the way you did. Anyway, I like the sentiment behind the song, and in the first two lines the concept of trying to live in a room. good start. great song.

I am learning to get used to my voice. Thanks for the vote of confidence! Thanks also for addressing the lyrics. I wanted to express freedom can be achieved anywhere, I don't know if that came through or not?!? But it was a fun project!

Thanks,
Doug
