Description:
silly love song -- best for earphone users!

Lyrics:
SWEET THING
Stephen Kemp

Oh, oh,
Let me tell you a little story, about yourself, girl
In all your glory
You're beautiful
You're my, you're my, you're my sweet thing, Baby

You know I love your own sweet thing, yeah
Uh-huh, now honey and you're my sweet thing baby
you know I love your
o o o-oh o o oh, oh o o oh-o

When I first met you I didn't know what to say to you, dear
But you made it easy, you just kissed me

O you're my sweet thing, I love you,
You're my darlin, you're my baby
Uh, honey, you're my sweet thing, yeah.
I love you, baby.

The way you are, the way you talk, the way you lay-down
You're my sweet thing baby.
And I love your
O o o-oh o o oh, oh o o oh-o

You're my sweet thing, honey, honey, honey
You're my sweet thing, honey, honey, honey
You're my sweet thing, honey, baby

You know I love you, you're my darlin, my darlin
my darlin, you're my sweet thing, my darlin
you're my sweet thing, my darlin, my darlin
my darlin sweet thing.

nice, but too brief &mdash 05/15/07 - 07:38:16 PM
not silly at all.

i like the layering here. when the flute comes in, it fits just right.

this has an uplifting spring to it!

there something going on in the bass i don't quite understand, is that a bass drum? not sure.

the voice is also pretty darn good.

thanks!

'something going on in the bass i don't quite understand, is that a bass drum? not sure.'

I don't know -- the preamble to the hook is very low piano, maybe you're hearing that?

Thanks for the comment on my singing, much appreciated!

that's a sweet little groove, jamo. good to hear you singing - i had a cat stevens flash once or twice - not a bad thing, really. ;)

i like simple chants like this - and there's a sweet joyfulness to your piece.

next time around, i'd let it build more slowly, adding all your goodies one by one - and keep that initial groove up in the mix so it anchors your happy vocals. enjoyed! anne

that's some good stuff. I am becoming a huge fan of yours. I love the combination of whistling and flute and your great voice, and well, just about everything seems perfect. that guitar intro and the first "oh.".......fantastic.

This is cute. But I must say that, although I enjoy your singing voice, I would have liked a little less whistling, and more flute-playing. The whistling seemed to meander a bit and soon became a little distracting (maybe just between the singing bits?) Anyway, a nice song, cute lyrics, good singing... but maybe add some air between stanzas for your carefree whistling and some little flute frills? I'd love to hear this develop more.

Hmmmnnn... &mdash 05/16/07 - 01:38:57 AM
I'm not sure what's with that bass sound either...but this is still a very nice tune. Not silly but sweet, like the title says!

You have a fine singing vox Steve. I do think the flute should be a tad further up in the mix...no need to hide it! All in all a fine offering...

Be well friend!

ooby dooby ahhhhh &mdash 05/16/07 - 08:03:31 AM
The whistly-saw sound is a little tentative and off in timing...distracting. Other than that, you have the start of a fun little lovey dubby song. Be careful of adding too much. Withstand the attraction of loops for the sake of filling 'er up. Try to work up a B section or chorus with different chord changes. Otherwise, you ride the edge of monotony.

This is a tasty bit of audio lasagna! Voice over voice over instrument, and so on. It jams nicely!

i never heard flute making the background "noise" in the song, very original. rainbow of sounds here, and percussion work cool too. nice job

Great little pop song Stephen.

"You think that people woulda had enough of silly love songs, but I look around me and I see it isn't so."

Really enjoyable mate. More please.

... down under -- it's a lot of fun to hear few times.

Thanks for clearing my mind by calling it Pop, since that is clearly what it is!

And, thanks for your encouragement!

good fun... &mdash 05/16/07 - 07:35:10 PM
quirky and fun Stephen, I really like the whistling in the background.
It kinda reminds me of Cat Stevens meets Frank Zappa...
Great Song & Thank You!
