Description:
Here's another Cuppa Joe withe additonal help of Jiguma and Joe Brady.
Jiguma had the common sense to relace my genre bending bass stylings with something more appropriate to the tune - while also adding a tambourine track to kick this tune along.
Joe Brady took up the harmonica challenge that someone threw out in an earlier comment.
Thanks to both of you for your fine contributions. And again, thanks to brother Will for his excellent lyrics.
Now - do we have any fiddle players out there?

Lyrics:
God stopped by the other dayto see how we were doin'
he closed his eyes and shook his head
at all the wrack and ruin
so I made a pot of coffee
I took his coat and hat
we sat at the kitchen table
had a little chat
He said
Being everywhere all the time
isn't very easy
the universe is awfully big
drives me kinda crazy
but I like this little planet
this one that you call earth
I like your funny stories
like the one about the virgin birth
but it gets so damn confusing
you call me by so many names
you get so high and mighty
you make outrageous claims
each group pretends to know me
my motives and my aims
you get all hot bothered
play your tragic games
He took a sip of coffee
sat back in his chair
I saw the questions on his face
the pain and worry there
Then he said
I got this business started
three billion years ago
then I kinda let it happen
to see where it would go
I had a few ideas
I sorta had a plan
but in the end I though I'd
leave it up to man
Right now I'm disappointed
by the misery I see
I think you've made some progress
but your less than you can be
and it's clear your biggest problem
is how you think of me
to make the world a better place
all you have to do
is fill your heart with peace and love
like my heart's filled for you
take your love and share it
with everyone you see
take your love and live it
that's how you honor me
He thanked me for the coffee
he headed for the door
I had a million questions
I wanted to hear more
but just as I began to speak
I realized he was gone
and all my million questions
were answered by this song
Hardware:
I played a Danelectro guitar and sang into a Samson USB mic. Not sure what the other guys did.Software:

I loved this song - enjoyed playing along too (despite the tricky little holds ;) Nice blowing Joe. Fender Precision bass and plastic yellow tambourine for me.
Neil
All the extras bring this to a new level and of cours the lyrics are excellent.. Great Collab guys!!!
Joe Brady
Thanks for including me; proud to be associated with this song. Neil, nice tambourine! Hohner G harp via Shure Beta 58 for me.
Cheers,
Joe

and like this one even more. Those lyrics are still great, and the whole production sounds even better now. Nice work, everybody. Peace.

Excellent job guys! really added 5 tablespoons of sugar to this with a boosted cafinated rush. No Sweet 'n Low here.

...to be a part of this collaboration. Joe, Neil, Bud, thanks for bringing the lyrics to life. Can't beat a Hohner, a Fender and Bud's rockabilly guitar. I'll keep writing if you guys'll keep playing.

Will did a great job on this - the lyric drives this track for me. Musically, this chugs along like a little train - great guitar and bass, but lordy, that harmonica is wonderful!
I like the 'massed voices'in the 'take your love' part - works really well.
Great collab guys.

hahaha...great stuff Bud! Love the lyrics. Nice job with the vox too. Neil and Joe topped things off nicely.
He stopped by here a few months back,,,we sat down to tea and had a remarkably similar conversation...
Be well man!

I love the rockabilly sound of this song. Well played and arranged.. Great colab you have done here!!! Congrats
bud
Neil and Joe really raised this song to a new level. Big thanks to both!
This is a cool "Getalong" song. Really neat work on the harmonica. You brothers and friends rock, now!

...it's like my wishes came TRUE...
I don't know why they came true on THIS song... I was wishing for mellotron on a bunch of other songs, and THAT never happened...
I still love the guitar sound on this... I was down at the local music store today, and one of the guys down there was demonstrating a Telecaster with some playing like this, and I really got into it...
I love hearing the harmonica on this. On my system I might like a couple more dB's of Neil's distinctive bass for full appreciation...
Take your love and live it, gents... well done...

I keep wishing for the Swedish bikini team to sing backup and it never seems to happen. Sorry Neil's a little low in your system - I definitely want his work heard loud and clear. I think my phones are a little bass heavy.
After a few more tunes with Will - I think I'm gonna put a collection together and go back and remix everything into a cohesive project. If and when...

I just thought I would press on your pic and see what was going on.
And really am blown away by the terrific words.
Like the line:
to make the world a better place
all you have to do
is fill your heart with peace and love
like my heart's filled for you
Hey, thanks for sharing this gem!

Bud and I have found a nice groove with our brotherly collaboration. It's a good feeling to know that the lyrics hit home with so many listeners, and thanks to Bud for doing them justice musically.
haribo
tight sounds tight mix solid vocal and the arrangement!!
i wonder what i'd do only IF the lord pops into my flat.. (though i reckon that's unlikely or even impossible to happen) i could fix him a nice tea and biscuits i suppose...
love yer voice :) i somehow feel that you were singing with your eyes half closed with a faint gaze look that's really cool.. did ya? did ya???!
bud
but I do find it interesting when some things just work without me understanding how it happened. That's kinda how it was with this one. My brother sends me lyrics and write songs for them - but I never know which lyrics I'm writing for. I just start making music and then after I have the basic tracks done I go into the lyrics file and see what feels right. As a result - things are not so lined up and it forces me to phrase things differently than I might have - which keeps me on my toes and pushes my vocals to places I wouldn't usually go.
BTW - from you - a vocal compliment is a real gift. Your voice is amazing. Thanks for stopping by.

This is very cool. Everything about this mix seems better to me, the vocal is much more out front, but still blends very nicely, the bass gives everything more punch, the harp is a nice touch, too. In all, this has much more of the feel of a live track now, I think.
Great job, all y'all!
bud
I think the additions really helped too. I'm real grateful to Neil and Joe.

It has *Joe* in the title --- LOL ... and I can't resist a song with a harmonica part. ;)
Nice adaptation of the Rockabilly style.

I had a great time with this one - Will wrote a fun set of lyrics to work with - and attracting the talents of Joe and Jiguma was a real treat. Glad you enjoyed it.
Heightened
should be my song. Lol!

Bud, nice work on this one (the nod goes to all the collabs as well). It feels and sounds like an afternoon jam that somebody pushed the record button on. Good message, good music, good work.
Now I've got to go catch up on every other song you've released since I've been gone!

Will painted a great picture here that let me get all Nashville for a change. Joe and Jiguma added a lot to the final mix.

This was all put together so nicely! Nice job!
