Description:
Due to popular demand, I'm posting another "non-mac" song. Again, this is another piece by my last orignal project "Out of the Blue.

This one's a progressive rock "ballad". My role, you may ask? All guitars, harmony vocals and some arrangement. This one also dates back to 1998.

Hardware:
I used my 1990 American Fender Strat Plus with a Crate Blue Voodoo Head, Marshall 1979 SuperLead, a Marshall cab dated early 70's if memory serves well.

This song was recorded at SoundTech Studios in Windsor, Ontario... again all analog

well put together &mdash 08/17/04 - 09:52:03 AM
This is an excellent music composition with a lot of depth
for this genre; there are a lot of classical elements in this
piece.

The track is large in scope and has a good, big sound, but
not overloaded. Your vocals soar over the full
accompaniment with good balance. Very nice mix overall!

I like the way you tie everything together in this song by
repeating the beginning material at the end. I particularly
liked the major chord leading to that last slow section.

GREAT job!

Great work! &mdash 08/17/04 - 03:20:08 PM
Okay, I'm not going to blame you for the singing as
you didn't take part in it, put I found the singing to
be technical well done, but to me, it sucked away
from the emotion of the song.

Great work here, though. Good ol' fashioned rock
power ballad and I'm particularly fond of the solo.
The "Ahhhs" are nice and crips, too... hey, I wonder
what this song would sound like with your lead
vocals?

Step up to the mic &mdash 08/17/04 - 06:05:26 PM
The voice could be richer and more compelling if the lead
singer carressed the mic better. Sounds a bit
constricted in its frequency range. Sounds like he's
standing too far away from it. Or maybe the mic was
not of the highest quality. Whatever. Do you actually think
I know what I'm talking about? I'm not a sound engineer. I
just expected analog voice to sound richer.

The instrumentation is superb! Great melodic
development and counterpoint elements.

Great track &mdash 08/21/04 - 09:59:15 AM
I agree with the above comments on the vocals...
Maybe a bit too loud over the guitars and could be mixed
in a tad more to blend in with the rest.. (like I really know
what I am talking about;;;LOL)
Otherwise the whole feel of the track is very full and
played well.
great stuff

Really moves into the bridge... &mdash 08/24/04 - 12:05:16 PM
Another great song, maybe my favorite of your Out of the
Blue project to date. I think the intro is too long, or the
sounds should be different (especially the synth, which is
old-world Casio keyboard sounding). Some vocal
critiques; More presence. Less western "r"s on the "bird."
Great chorus. But my favorite part is the instrumental
bridge after the second chorus. Fantastic! Consider
putting something like that as an intro. And the vocals
key changes are wonderful. More! I really like this song.

Made me think of &mdash 10/16/05 - 08:36:34 PM
a band I listened to in the early mid-80's... you remember Vandenberg?
Very cool metal power ballad style song... without the cheese!
