Music. &mdash 05/17/07 - 08:42:12 PM
A romantic evening by the fire. A morning cup of coffee. A solitary walk through the park at dusk. Lonely at home on the couch with head in hands. This little tune could be the soundtrack to so many activities and emotions. On first listen the melody doesn't sound like it's doing that much, but somehow the piece keeps driving forward. Whatever chord modulations you used were very well-chosen. Good work. [ Reply to This ]
Wonderful &mdash 05/18/07 - 02:34:00 AM
Such a beautiful theme! And so well performed. Your fingers are so carefully bringing love into the music.
In my ears it is also a very ripe composition. If anyone would have told me that it was made by one of the great masters I would have believed it.
But what happened in the ending, are you waking the listeners up so they won't forget to go to bed :) [ Reply to This ]

It is truly a wonderful nocturne. Very well balanced play!
Nice theme, sound a little bit like chopin.
Thank you for sharing!
Well done!

Nocturne 2 &mdash 05/18/07 - 11:36:30 PM
By the time you got near the end I was "into" the 2 or 3 little sequences you outlined, only hoping, then, that you had done more of that throughout the piece. ... In a dreamy sort of way this is such a pleasant piece to listen to and creates a wonderfully calming mood.... I agree with Cori: that last bit at the end was a little startling and didn't fit the rest of the piece. ... I hope you will keep posting piano music. There are too few of us doing so.

Talent &mdash 05/19/07 - 08:12:20 AM
Gisli, you have wonderful talent for composing/playing. This Nocturne is beautiful, but the ending is indeed startling. My emotions tell me the piece should end softly.
God bless,

Nice composition &mdash 05/20/07 - 12:38:27 AM
Very good composition and performance. The end could have been softer, but hey, why do it like everybody else.
There is a part that increases in volume several measures before the ending that I found very intriguing and well done. [ Reply to This ]
Very dreamy &mdash 05/20/07 - 01:49:59 PM
You have excellent piano technique. Whoa! the end is big - not sure about that. It feels like there should either be a longer lead into that ending, or it should stay quieter in the mood of the rest of the piece. Otherwise though - great writing and great playing. [ Reply to This ]
I enjoyed this piece.... &mdash 05/20/07 - 02:17:14 PM
I enjoyed listening to this piece.
It is a fresh-sounding nocturn but could be a little bit longer, to enjoy both the tune and your playing.
Towards the end it does sound Chopin-esque but that, to me, is not a bad thing. Maybe he just did those things first.
I await your next upload with anticipation.
Take care.

I for one wasn't that thrown off by the ending. I thought it was a pretty clever escape. Hahaha.
Very very nice playing. Brilliant composition. great mood.
always a pleasure stopping by to see what you've been up to. [ Reply to This ]
Hello! &mdash 05/31/07 - 12:28:33 AM
nice combinations; I really like the changes and the romantic sound. Make it a little longer and smooth the end a little; otherwise great! [ Reply to This ]

It had a very nice nighttime feel to it. Very good job reflecting 19th century music. [ Reply to This ]

After this I have to say that I really like your piano skills. I agree with reinolth56: could be little longer. I PERSONALLY think this is more an experiment than a complite work. But I really love the fact that u are trying to composo classicla music in this "hard times". Congratulations. [ Reply to This ]
