enjoy basement tape
distorted guitar was a razor blade. a bee sting. the altered vocals with echo and equalization narrowing fit well. the singing was strong. simple rock, but satisfying. 0x0

Very cool
Like this a lot. Nice guitar sounds, and good vocal presence and performance. Some sounds a bit harsh in the mix (like the cymbals -?- on the drums, for example) but that's easily fixed. The song's the thing, and this rocks. Nice work. Peace.

rock the plumbing
Down home production. Interesting quality in the soundspace. I imagine you shook the foundation. Mason jars rattling. Not my cup of tea, but this reminds me of my basement audition with bad-ass hard-rock Serikulus. I did not make the grade. I can't sing high enough to do this kind of stuff. Voice gets shredded in 5 minutes. Too much.

Play low! No, lower!
I was just about to remark about the rumbling bass when I noticed that you recorded this in your basement. Funny. Somewhere close to the end, just before (and after) the solo, there is some serious low frequency content. Is that floor toms or so? It's quite impressive.

A good song, and well played otherwise too.

stoked
Really cool cut. Yeah the production needs some work, the cymbals are a little shrill. The panning of the drums is a little too active, the bass a bit thin, needs more middle and a lot more low end, but like was said before, the SONG is the thing and this thing rocks. LOTS of energy and HEART! You can't make up for a lame song with excellent production, but a rockin track like this doesn't even need it. Well done. Fav'd and I wish I could download it.

Cool
This sounds pretty good. I like the distortion in the lead guitar, especially during the solo near the end - very tasty! Oh, and nice vocals!

I think I know what Dr. Biz is talking about when he mentioned timing problems. I'm hearing some slight (*very* slight) timing issues, especially in the beginning, between the vocals and the rest. It seems like the vocals come in just a little too late compared to the instrumental. It's nothing distracting, but I did notice it.

But nontheless, a nice little jam you have here - A nice first post!
Welcome to MJ!

a song from under the floor boards
wow - i thought this sounded ok, then the voice started and i loved it. Real down and dirty garage feel to this - 60's fookin' rock n roll - great stuff, love the feel of this.

..

not much to add: I agree, fine song, needs a little
production work: cymbals, vocals, some better stereo
field placement .. I hear some Lenny Kravitz influence
too .. with that fuzzy retro and wahed solo sound .. you've done the hard bit making a good tune, the rest should be easy to learn to fix but for a basement recording it's darn good to me. Lyrics got a little
repetitive (says me! ;)). Good stuff .. keep it up.

Rockin'!!!
Ok..so I'm not much for critiquing rock music, so I'll just say what I like...

Really like the use of distortion here--it fits the vibe and the drive. Really
nice vocals and vocal effects.
This song makes no apologies!
Very cool :)

I like this!
The best recordings are when you don't know your being recorded! To bad you couldn't do this every time lol. Nice work all around except the rhythm guitar seems a bit to fuzzy and broken up, but then that's just me. Production can always be tweaked no matter how many times it's been tweaked! Kudos FW.

Kickin...
This is great inertia, really interesting gritty sound you have on the guitar. Nice singing, including the effect-laden part. The only bad part is that the overly distorted guitar sound, although intriguing at first, soon begins to feel really harsh, and possibly a bridge or chorus where there was a break would help... but that's likely just my old ears.

Drakonis

Cool jam
Boy this brings me back to plenty of my own basement recording sessions, haha. Basically, this is a cool tune that sounds like a lot of fun to play. The distortion on the guitar is a bit much for me after a while; it sounds like a problem with the electronics more than a guitar tone enhancement (to me). Although there's an overall looseness to the timing and some production issues, it's a cool song that sounds like a lot of rocking fun. Keep on jamming!

We need a ROCK! genre for this one...
cuz "Rock" just isn't, well, ROCK! enough! Heavy and critically earsplitting guitars. Vocals are a bit like Doctorbizarre said - The Nooge.

Really got me ROCKIN!

I'm ready for your next song!

I also hear...
...the "timing issues" that Doc wrote of, but they WORK for me. "Tight" is not always necessarily "good." This has a marvellous loose feel which I think is part of it's classic rock magic. Vocals could be a tad louder perhaps (in places). All in all a GREAT rockin bit of tuneage. Wah solo kicks butt!

Be well!

Its a cool song
...but the production and rhythm need a lot of work. Vocals sound really cool and the distortion is cool. First song? If so, good job.

Reminds me .....
... of those bad old days in the bar listening to live music .... when I would sit right next to the speakers and bob my head .... maybe that has something to do with my hearing issues today .. hmmmmmm this has that recorded in your basement sound .... so I am not gonna comment on the recording issues (mostly cause it has already been done ... and also cause I have no idea as to what advice I would give cause my own mixing skills leave something to be desired) ... but on the song and vox alone ... good job! A fun reminiscent listen for me!
