Description:
Something I found while going through all of my old garageband files. It's all done with my voice and a guitar.

Lyrics:
jump in the motherboard
riding like a danger lord
fill up the watering can
drip into a washing pan

slide into the suitcase
disappear without a trace

leaf on a tree
hive of a bee
a frog on rock
spider in a sock

melt in the snow
from a fox on the go
build a tent
let the tiny birds clean my teeth

The first stuff of yours I have heard. This is a very cool minimal, moving, dark portrait. I love the lyrics, especially the first stanza. The volume of your voice seems to drop off about 1/2 way through, might look at that. The strummy guitar at the end seems a little out of place, but that is a minor quibble. Cool.

Love the feel of this one. Vocals could be up a bit.
You've got some interesting lyrics "let the tiny birds clean my teeth"....way cool.
Agree the the stumming part doesn't really fit. I'd just add some trippy pick style guitar at the end like the guitar part you play throughout.(Just play it a little different and it'll sound cool,I think.
First time I've heard you and Lava Likes.
Bye

Minimalist. &mdash 05/23/07 - 08:12:04 PM
You are the Chuck Palahniuk of alt rock. (He's the guy who wrote the novel Fight Club. Very abstract, minimalist stuff. You should check him out if you've never read him.) I respect lyricists who are able to write abstract stuff that makes no literal sense but touches at an emotional level. I'm not very good at that. The lyrics are impressive. You take everyday images and put them into sort of a dream setting. I think that allows for a lot of different people to be able to relate to the lyrics in their own way.

The guitar part is tastefully sparse. If I wrote this I'd probably be kicking myself in the balls trying to find some way to complicate the arrangement. (But of course I'm a metalhead and a bit of an amateur J.S. Bach scholar and tend toward more complicated music.) You manage to make this minimalism work in a very powerful way that I could never do. You're direct without ever being dogmatic. The result is similar to a spiritual guru who never tells someone what to do, but points them in the right direction to find their own way.

Maybe the voice is a bit low, but the sounds are enthralling, and I amazing you did this with only a guitar.
