Wonderful.. &mdash 05/25/07 - 11:15:37 AM
Artistry here. I was mesmerised at the playing of the guitar and the beautifully sympathetic orchestration. I like to be able to get a mental picture when listening to music and with this wonderful piece, I got an image of a butterfly fluttering over the Spanish countryside on a warm summer evening. I must download this one, Thank you! M [ Reply to This ]

I thought &mdash 05/25/07 - 12:40:44 PM
your guitar work was wondeful before, but the strings make it magic. They just float at the back of the mix but with a sure presence. Really great man. [ Reply to This ]
Spanish influence &mdash 05/25/07 - 04:16:41 PM
The balance between the orchestration and your guitar flows perfect together Bill.
I stayed a week at the Spanish island Tenerife some years ago. Just beneath my hotel window there was an outdoor restaurant which had live music every night. The band was kind of like the 'gypsy kings' or sort of flamenco influenced... Well I got some flashbacks to that, from listening to your Spanish influenced guitar:)
You have a solid grip on this style. The fast moves and dramatic variations in energy is very well performed.
It's just getting better and better here at the tilers residence. Beautiful done! [ Reply to This ]

Talknrok, Thoddi
I noticed Thoddi, that you had wonderfully sounding strings in your latest and am greatfull that I am not considered out of date. Cause I really enjoyed working with Jam Pack 4 and GB3.
Thanks again. [ Reply to This ]

The strings give this music just
enough frosting on the cake, nice
simple, clear lines.

Gorgeous lines and superb playing. The balance with the strings is perfect... ( although such tremendous playing would stand alone just as well ). Excellent use of accompaniement. Song structure itself is great and from start to finish was a very gratifying listening experience. I think this is probably the best guitar playing I have heard in a while. There are other pieces recently which I have been blown away by, but this just seemed to get right to heart of what appeals to me musically. Excellent melody, performance and arrangement. Great job! &mdash 05/27/07 - 12:06:15 PM
Well, this just blows me away. It's as good as anything I've heard here, and I've heard a lot of amazing music here. As i was listening the first time, I wasn't sure who the artist was -- I missed it, for some reason -- and I was thinking, "OMG! Who is this amazing guitarist?" Then I saw that it was Bill, and I thought, ok, that explains it!
Great job here, BIll! [ Reply to This ]

the scenery of the artwork has crossed my mind. &mdash 05/28/07 - 07:49:36 AM
This is a very wonderful ax work.
The smell of Spanish drifts, and the scenery of the artwork has crossed my mind.
And I felt admiration because of wonderful tone quality. [ Reply to This ]
I think one of the things... &mdash 05/28/07 - 12:34:14 PM
...that stands out for me with this piece, is your very sensitive use of dynamics in the guitar... Some of your steel-string pieces, especially the earlier ones, barrel right on through at one intensity level... To your credit, it's the RIGHT intensity level... you've always got musical taste...
Here, using the nylon string guitar, you're letting subtle variations occur in the attack, in the thumb and fingers, and it really draws one into the music, and right onto that terrace... The backing tracks are nicely subtle, too... they don't overpower the main attraction, which is the guitar...
You keep expanding your abilities, Bill... It's quite inspiring...

Ya, &mdash 05/28/07 - 06:09:46 PM
Good point Ed, thanks for being so astute. With those dang steel strings doing more of a travis type picking is a bit more of a challange. But the classical style almost beckons a finer approach.
Thanks again for comparing, analyzing ...
I appreciate it. [ Reply to This ]

It's Really Hard &mdash 05/28/07 - 05:01:48 PM
To find new adjectives for your playing. I always enjoy it and envy your talent. You inspire me to try and be a better and cleaner guitar player! You have also mastered the art of recording and the guitar tone you get is superb and this song is no exception. If you sing or add other instrumentation it is just a bonus. The orchestration on this one is fine but it would sound fine by itself also. It is as if you are competing with yourself as your guitar always can stand alone and shine like a diamond! I enjoy going by and listening to your tunes as well. You have so much to offer in the bronco style. That soulful bronco style having your heartfelt lyrics take on a musical journey that I really have fun listening to.

Just a gorgeous piece, beautifully executed &mdash 05/29/07 - 01:58:41 AM
Bill, this is another great performance by you, which is nothing new - that is your standard, and your gift to all here.
Your orchestration is subtle, tasteful, and very effective. Such a beautiful job you've done with these instruments...
Your mixing of styles to honor the Spanish but still make this song your own requires finesse, which you have in enormous amounts. Congratulations on this jewel. [ Reply to This ]

How delightful... &mdash 05/29/07 - 08:36:50 AM
...this piece lies. While it has influences of a lot of different things, it strikes me as being absolutely unique, original. Your playing is sensitive and precise throughout, assured on every note and carefully mixed, too. The strings add just the right little touch to give a serene background to the overall atmosphere. I absolutely loved the coda, bringing back your opening and giving the number such a sure sense of completeness. Just a great composition, Bill, and beautifully performed.

Mucho Musical Ideas &mdash 05/29/07 - 02:01:41 PM
There are a lot of musical ideas here, and all of them are good. This piece moves right along with idea after idea. I liked the middle where I think you played a quick series of octives. Not necessarily what one would expect, but that was a great idea.
I also liked that you didn't overdue the strings and used them as icing on a very creative cake. [ Reply to This ]

Peter, it is a lot of fun working with GB3 and JamPack4, especially when you start to feel something interesting is happening. I recommend that software for anybody that wants symphonic type orchestration at relatively low cost! [ Reply to This ]

Simply great artistry.
Your outstanding guitar play is one thing. I am impressed by your ability not to overdue, to give all the dynamics and expression without loosing control, that is very impressive. Kudos!
The orchestration is perfect and very inspiring for me.

Bill, it's been awhile since I've given your tracks a click. It's been too long! Congrats on an outstanding piece here. You've got guitar chops to beat the band, but just as impressive are your GB chops. What a beautiful, affecting piece this is. Your compositional skills are also just awesome.
You must have a big heart, to create something as beautiful as this.
