Description
Fans who were at the Distemper Pavilion on the night of Oct 13, 1987 for the Gordon String concert will never forget the night or suprise appearance of Gordon's twin brother, Eric String, during the second encore.
Just five years earlier, the two founding members of the Legendary String Brothers band had vowed never to speak to each other, let alone play together ever again.
Each had had only moderate success following the split. G. String had played for a while with the Canibus Canibals before embarking on a solo career and E. String had recorded two lackluster albums with the group Eric And The Claptones.
It was simply fate that brought them to the same stage that night. Eric had been booked for a concert the following night at the Rabid County Fairgrounds only 30 miles away from the Distemper. When he strode on stage during the second encore of his brother's show with his flame-painted Gibson slung low on his hip, the crowd went wild.
You'll remember, of course, that any hopes of the brothers reuniting were dashed the very next night when the two were accidently electricuted during the sound check at the fairgrounds.
The song you are listening to now surfaced only this year when soundman and front of house mixer for Gordon String, Jeff Deafman passed away. Among the things that were found in his room in the monastery where he lived following his tragic error that resulted in the death of his two friends, was a tape simply marked "2nd Encore". This is that tape.

I'm not sure who these String guys are (were?) but it is a fun guitar duet. Thanks for sharing this and the story.
