Description
Me and a friend recorded this on a cassette portable studio a while ago and I´ve put into my computer and done some editing with cubase sx3. By no means perfect and needs some work, I know. Just wanna know if it's something worth building on. Neither one of us are professionals, but there it is. Give us some tips if you feel like it..

Lyrics
SACRIFICE:

I look into the fire
and you are by my side.
I feel afraid and hesitate
but there's no need to hide.

My life is worthless anyway,
by treason as by lies.
So I will give my life to you
by a sacrifice.

Chorus:
The lady is crying,
the old man is dead.
The lady is screaming for help.

I can already hear the clatter
of the horsemen's ride.
I know that they will get me
if I commit suicide.

It's time to walk ahead,
I ain't got anything to loose.
The gods will not be envious,
I cannot be of use.

Chorus: The lady...

I see a house with seven doors,
with seven gods beside.
- This has to be my new home
by furtune, I cry.

The ground is laid with fire,
the air is full of steam.
I take another few steps
and wake up from my dream...

Chorus x2

This reminds me of a 60s song.
I don't remember what 60s song this reminds me of, but it's one I've always liked. Based on the little I can make out of the lyrics I take it this is a Christian song. I'd like to read the lyrics. I really like the vocal timbre, creamy guitar fuzz, melodic riffs, and song structure. You should DEFINITELY re-record this. I think it's a very cool song, just needs some production.

...

Rolling Stones "Painted Black" I would guess was the one Dharma :o)

It's got a cool Viking into war kinda thing going on...
nice changes, although I would have the guitar and vocal melody playing so close all the time... that is
one thing that gives the similarity to the afore mentioned classic.

You might have to go back to source or re-record to fix
somethings, like drums sound a bit distant and the vocals could come up a bit and be a little less effected.

Cool first post all the same. Välkommna till Macjams Thomaz, skol.

"Painted Black"
That's probably it. I never would have consciously thought of the Stones, because I very consciously despise them. But they do have about a half-dozen songs that I like against my will. This sounds like one of those.

I know you!
Where is your band? you are in that swedish punk band Grasuggorna...I like this song way different from your band, good job Thomaz!

Right you are!
Ok Tom, you got me. This is just a little project on the side that I'm doing on my own. It's nice to do some other stuff beside playing with the band.
It's different and I don't know if I'm up to it technically or musically but it's fun to play around.
The band (and me) are still playing, this just doesn't quite fit into our sound... ;-)

THANX!
To DHARMA: I posted the lyrics for you, I guess it can be whatever you read into it.. ;-) But I'm not a particularly christian person (Not that there's necessarily something wrong with that). Thank's for your comments.

To APB: Didn't think about that until I listened to it after your comment. I see what you mean but they are still two different songs i hope? Thank's a lot for you tips.

To SURAK: Never thought about the "kazoo zound". Thank's.

To TOM WOUNDED: You got a reply of your own.. But thank's to you to!

To ALL OF YOU: I appreciate your tips and comments. I'll try to make a rerecording of it but it might not sound quite the same since it was done on an old portable cassette studio. I might miss out on the "kazzoo zound", but I'll do my best..

oh yeah, two different songs, just reminiscent .. reminds you of and if anything it's the rhythm and way the guitar and vocals follow each other I think, rather than notes.

First of all I am not a professional musician or singer at all, just think it's fun to play around and see if I can make something out of my ideas anyway. A way to do something different than I usually do with my band "Gråsuggorna" (If you're into p... [see more]
