Lyrics:
unfolding the folded

this is need
this is god
in my hand
my heart in this mouth
I cannot help but feed
this is my everything everything
there is nothing else
sense of self dissolves
as this evolves through me
I am being spoken
the voice of all things
I could ever be/

trying to comprehend it
all falling through me
feeling for the first time
seeing with clear eyes
I am being born into something new
something now something knowing
this feeling fills me it is growing
like a fist in my chest
it is lift, it is up
it is a test of my trust
it is knowing, it is love

that everything will ever be unfolded
throughout all parts of me nothing
but joy in my mind all in my mind
I can see the two simultaneously
I wonder how this can be
sunlight in my eye
plucked into flight
a cascade of iridescending light
caught up in the mad flash-flood and flurry of
thoughts into awareness
a rush pushing all the
emptiness out of what I thought I was
showing me so much I am at a loss
I am awed I am humbled
I am floored bent low and broken
by the weight of what I see

this is awesome Jo. Only quibble is sometimes the backing over-powers the voice over. Might work with some ducking or just some mastering tools to bring the vocal out when needed a touch more.

Still, fantastic lyrics and thumping, gritty tune - just the right bed for the subject. You get the sense of something emerging, wanting to push itself out. Brilliant.

You know that feeling... &mdash 05/31/07 - 09:33:19 PM
...that you're witnessing a great work of art that is way beyond your momentary mindset? I need to come back to this when I'm in a different mood that will allow me to appreciate it more. This is some out-there stuff, like a religious parable or a baroque fugue that you know would make perfect sense if you were just focused enough to understand it.

Industrial feeling &mdash 06/01/07 - 02:20:25 AM
sounds quite different to your last tracks ... and proofs that your nice voice suits to many styles. I really like it!

great &mdash 06/01/07 - 03:02:37 AM
sounds in the intro and everywhere. The vocal delivery is really dramatic, with the echo. all the words have a wave to them like stones thrown in water.

Over an irresistable bed of sound. Great poetry.

Great groove &mdash 06/01/07 - 10:49:04 AM
Very cool details. I loved the growling guitar yelps especially. Very cool art too. I had trouble focusing on the words, they are so evenly spoken, almost monotone singing, but dug the whole mesmermizing effect. Vocals could have been louder, or EQd to cut threw better. (Where did the art come from?)

Brilliant Piece &mdash 06/02/07 - 01:58:27 AM
Superb musical background. Great lyrics. Jo, I think you should have let yourself go emotionally a little more. You need to give the words a little more oomph - like you really mean what you're saying. It's a little flat as it is.

way cool &mdash 06/02/07 - 07:23:03 PM
The groove, the guitars, the feeling the ... voice

All is beautiful, and oh so tastefully put together.

One helluva great sound ya got here &mdash 06/03/07 - 07:43:35 PM
every aspect of this cooks for me and the flavor of your vocals are exactly right in this stew. Pardon the analogy - let me just say this is one excellent track. Reminds me a little of Grace Jones doing Joy Division's She's Lost Control - only better. Glad I stopped by - thanks for posting.

Not my usual cup of tea, but what a great music bed and overall production. Jo, this suited you perfectly, and I enjoyed the foreign accent ;)
