Description:
Er..I went camping for a time and recorded this on one of the sunnier days.I had to stay in the tent though cos the midges were having a rockin festival outside.

Lyrics:
Sally

Sally were running out of bread again
Sunrise we aint got no time to be afraid
Why cry when you got nothing left to lose
Why try life is all that we got left

Meet me with a smile and we'll be gone
Heading for the sunny side of the river

Smokey above the greenest hill
Okay never had the heart to kill
Theres no way you'll ever change the soul inside
But Sally someday I'll make you mine

Meet me with a smile and we'll be gone
Heading for the sunny side of the river

Hold me down cos I cant seem to stand so still for long
The reapers got my place to fill and it seems so wrong
That you cant find a place to settle down my love keep moving on

Sally roll another for the open road
Now take me to the heart of the summer song
Been so long since we been blowin free
The high road no better place that we could be

Meet me with a smile and we'll be gone
Heading for the sunny side of the river

Meet me with a smile and we'll be gone
Heading for the sunny side of the river

Like the song - some very nice changes in there - and i love the recording circumstances. Great singing, and a cool vibe all round. Nice work. Peace.

Cheers - circumstances were great for a change,as too many people live at my house to make much noise.Up there on the hill it was a change to be able to sing as loud as you want.Infact I didn't want to come back.

Will check your stuff out too

Great &mdash 06/01/07 - 07:34:45 AM
Song . Love the live feel and ambience and the harmonies. This is something that will make you remember that day with a great fondness every time you hear it in the future. I;m thinking fondly of it myself.

Thanks - those twangy stringy instruments aren't easy to tune to your own tuning - tune up em up perfectly and one fret up its a semitone out,so the solution seems to be to slightly detune em,which doesn't sound great but is better than nothing

Pretty overused chords really, but I've always loved em

Will have to check out your talking n rock, soon!

If you ever want any flute work, let me know....
or point me at a song so I can audition for you.

I love Nick Drake, The Pentangle (each and all of them), Richard Thompson's Fairport Convention, T Rex, and YOU.

Could hear this... &mdash 06/01/07 - 04:04:53 PM
as background music in a movie... which would make the particular scene that it was featured in, one of the best scenes in the movie. Another good one, Paddler.

look at the trees.

Great feel on this. Amazing what you can do in a tent (or outside it)

The Boss works pretty well then?

Cheers

This was recorded in a tent? Cool!

A jingle-jangle of delight. I hope the midges appreciated it.

Nice and breezy! &mdash 06/21/07 - 03:37:53 PM
Very nice, sunny day groove. It's got a real live sound to it, like a couple of of folks sitting out under a tree singing together...
