Description:
A little song I worked on on my ukulele. Placed a mic infront of me and recorded a quick sketch. Turned out quite good, but it's a bit raw, as everything was recorded in one take. And oh yeah, the hiss created by the imic is quite loud at the start. I've ordered a firepod, that ships this week. Cant wait to get my hands on it!

Lyrics:
"I Got To Go" by The Chiefs

I crossed the valley as the sun went down
I love you baby, and I want you around
But I got to go

In the evening when the sunlight 's gone
I sit in a town a long way from home
Cause I got to go

When you wake up early in the morning
I an leave you with out a warning
Cause I got to go

And if you try to look for me now
Don't you worry, I'm coming home for chow
Cause I love you so

( This is at least what my sketchbook says )

Essence of Neil? &mdash 06/02/07 - 11:31:27 AM
I really like this - love the "morning - no warning" phrasing in the middle - Very Neil Young. If you polish the song in future don't lose that bit! Reminds me of something like "For The Turnstiles" - very loose but groovy:-))

lol is the word. This is old. You can hear it by the sketchy recording(one Shure PG48 dynamic mic; not the most obvious choice for a recording like this) and a little ragged singing. But hey, those were the days!(before I got my Presonus Firepod and a condenser mic!!)

I think i will redo this song soon. Keep some of the laidback "for the turnstiles" vibe, but tighten up on some of the singing, playing!

Thanks for adding me to your mail notification!
