Description:
if i were to have a child and that child were a girl i would sing this song to her to help her fall asleep

Lyrics:
Sweet little girl
Close your eyes
Dream your dream
Fly in the skies
Sweet little girl
While you sleep
Your mother dreams of you
Shelters the weak
Sweet little girl
Dry your tears
On my sleeve
Til’ they disappear

Sweet little girl
Trust in me
Your smiling face
Is all I want to see
But when your down
Ill be there
To lend an ear
Oh this I swear
Sweet little girl
Follow me
But don’t be afraid
To leave

I hope you have triplets! &mdash 06/03/07 - 08:36:24 PM
This is really a sweet song. The mix has a few issues, but, what a nice tune. I actually fell asleep twice while writing this (kidding). I have a daughter and if you don't mind waiting until I learn how to play this, I'll be happy to test it out on her.

I'm not one to advise on mixing, cuz the vocals were about as muddy as any of mine are. I like the harmonica. It's just right - sad and sleepy.

I see what you're capable of and I thorougly enjoy every ounce you've put into this song. Keep it up. Have you tried doing it in the closet? I've heard it might produce a daughter.

listen! i totally understand that the mix needs a few issues and being that the songs i have been writing and recording are thru not so solid equipment i think there is a learning curve to getting a mix right, and thus far i haven't found the right way to do it ... if you have any suggestions, let me know

i hope your daughter enjoys it, and when the time is right the closet might just be the right fit ...

thanks for the words

Very nice &mdash 06/04/07 - 06:49:25 AM
song. The music is at the same time simple and melodic, and the words are beautiful. The arrangement and harmonies are good, and the harmonica is a perfect fit. The vocals do sound a little less than crystal clear in the mix, but that's easily fixed. The song's the thing, and this is a good one. Nice work. Peace.

the music inparticular is what drove me to finish writing this song, i like music that is simple, with strong words, and well composed. im glad you enjoyed the harp, there were two parts i was considering for that section and i think the one i chose fits it well.

any suggestions on how to perfect the mix ... im all ears

Dreamy &mdash 06/04/07 - 11:19:02 AM
I like how the nylon guitar sounds on this. It almost has a piano-like quality to it. The muddy vocals almost seem appropriate to me. They give a dreamy feel to it. I wouldn't change a thing. Sure, it's not a radio friendly mix, but that's not what your going for. I love the harmonica as well. Good job!
