Description:
When I was a young man coming of age and deciding what I wanted to do with my life, I became enthralled with the radio. In the small town in which I lived, listening to the radio at night was my lifeline to the world. At night, with the help of the Ionosphere, I could listen to country music from WSM in Nashville, or the sounds of New Orleans on WWL, and of course rock and roll from Cleveland on KYW or from Chicago on WLS or WCFL, or tune in the Motor City on CKLW in Windsor, and of course I could always dream of the Big Apple by tuning in Cousin Brucie on WABC. If I listened long enough I could catch the early morning market reports on WOWO in Fort Wayne. On a good night, I could tune in French Canadian Stations and even WOW in Omaha. St Louis, Boston, Philly, Buffalo, Memphis; they all came right into my bedroom via the old Zenith that I had bought for 25 bucks.
I dreamed of becoming the voice on the radio .
Thanks to the Ionospheric Propagation of AM radio, a young man could dream.

This song is my tribute to the Ionosphere.

my highest respect to your talent, style and taste....you are forever evolving your music. This is another fine ass production, the song rocks with the volume cranked up to 10 on my system, you are one of the best here on MJ's that uses loops in a very original style and your mixes-production are the best here, I sincerely mean that with due respect and honesty. Thanks for the jam....

You the Blue Man ;-) &mdash 06/09/07 - 08:32:50 AM
Thanks for the kind comments. I know that making up my songs on Garage Band and posting them here on MacJams has been something very important to keeping my sanity. It is one of the few hobbies I've ever had and certainly the most rewarding from a personal standpoint. To realize that the music which I create also appeals in some way to others, is gratifying.

Sound &mdash 06/09/07 - 03:24:06 PM
You generate a big sound here. Worth bouncing off the ionosphere and around the world. More specifically, you make some excellent choices about when to add or remove a track at just the right points. Thanks for sharing.

I appreciate your comments. Since I have really limited skills, I try hard to use what arranging skills I have to the utmost and work hard on trying to maximize the effects I'm looking for with each track and each song. I'm happy that you feel I accomplished my goals here.

i spent a few weeks outside of grand canyon one summer and listened to radio stations from all over the place.

cool tune a lot of great things going on. you created a cool rock tune that also bends into a prime genesis style of music.

Very nicely done.

Good,Solid Stuff &mdash 06/11/07 - 12:23:54 AM
Like the overall feel of your song - strong and steady rhythmic pulse running throughout the song w/the interplay between the guitar, synth and drum - not overplayed or overpowering - just right in my head - nicely mixed, produced & great choice of sounds - really like the 'Nine Inch' drum sounds - good stuff!

Twisting and cutting and rebuilding loops and finding new ways and instruments for them is what I am all about.
