a bad experiment at all. some of those synths are really cool sounding, it's funny: there is one towards the end that reminds me of "circus of heaven" by Yes, but obviously a completely differen context.

The Yes track is not one that I know but I'll be trying to dig it out from somewhere if I can.

The cheesy bit is the first phrase after the intro. It sounds, to me, like I never had lessons to play a keyboard, and the phrase is a 'stock, shareware musical phrase.

The seven layers are the other 'cheese' aspect. Obscure but that's me.

Because I just love cheese! What program were you learning to use? This really reminds me of a soundtrack from the 80s, like Real Genius or something. Also towards the end the phrase "robotic windchimes" came to mind.

Talk about cheesy but when you said "7 layers" I thought of "seven-layer dip." Yum.

The cheese aspect is both the style and the 'beginner aspect' of the phrasing in the early parts.

Seven layers is another cheese-pointing aspect, where up to seven tracks are used in parts of the mix.

Orion Platinum is the program. It is, to me, a poor man's Reason 3 (but with a far easier to use workspace). I use it on a multiboot Mac mini.
