Description:
Just relased at CD (at http://www.myspace.com/moremikki), more for testing purposes and for fun. This is the first song I am writing in what hopefully will become a more professional CD relase. The song basically just sat there, no magic, one of thus that comes to you, you write it, you play it, act it - sometimes the best comes to me like this, often after a a few songs that didn't seem to lead no nowhere.

Lyrics:
Dirty Chords

Everything is an illusion
There's no band in here
This is no happy carnival
No need to stay here

No need to be a barfly baby
No need to paint Satan on the wall
This is an execution

An execution of Rock "N" Roll

Unless we decide not to play dead

This is a simple solution
With some dirty chords
Let's pollute our minds
With this song

We don't want no executions
We want to paint Satan on the wall
We want to be together
And play our Rock "N" Roll

We want to play it forever and ever
On every damn floor
In every sunken city
We want to play our Rock "N" Roll

down and dirty &mdash 06/11/07 - 11:26:07 PM
with really great harmonies. Love it when it opens up to the big finale. Sometimes, I get distracted by your double vocals not lining up, but you do it in almost all your stuff, so it is almost a signature sound at this point. The harmonies are just thus the icing on this song. Good production and mix, too.

You're not alone &mdash 06/12/07 - 08:12:34 AM
I get distracted by some of them too! :) Normally when I record a song, I don't quite know the song itself yet - for example - I've just written the lyrics - hook the microphone up - start recording the vocals. Then, I post it to get feedback. Normally after listening to my own songs, the vocals shape themselves naturally and I wish I had more power and time to go back and re record them. I am working towards getting into a studio soon, in which case I will have the opportunity to do this... I am also not very patient, I do one take most of the times - it would be really nice to just stand there and sing, and let somebody else push the buttons for once! :) I am glad you listen and give constructive feedback like this! Peace, Mikki

This grabbed me from the get go - I love the backing vox, and your voice has loads of character - the song reminds me a little of The Auteurs early work - gritty but with great melodies. The lyric ... how post-modern can you get?!

I freakin' love this - thanks for dropping by on my song mikki, or i would never have heard this - great guitars, production .... put me down for the cd man.

A little different outing for you Mikki - "dirty" sound still has those 70s harmonies and attitude. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of the dirty guitars and the straightforward vocal approach.
Another good one!

Hey Mikki.... &mdash 06/15/07 - 04:03:54 PM
This is good fun! Love the crunch and wah playing off each other. Always enjoy your vocals. Bass is exceptionally ballsy in this one.
