take out that one lead... &mdash 06/12/07 - 09:23:50 PM
... that you have toward the end. it does not fit with this song. it sounds like a sawtooth lead, but i was a bit disappointed to hear it. otherwise, it's a nice song, though i have to say, it does not remind me of trance. try a beat with a bass drum on all 4 beats, the snare on 1 and 3, and an open hi-hat on all the off beats and see what it sounds like. you could keep the beat you have now, but sometime in the song, just change it all of the sudden to what i described, and i think this will be a much better song. it's a good start.

Great but not exactly trance. &mdash 06/15/07 - 06:22:38 AM
I must agree with rubik the beat would be awesome if kept to 4 bass hits. I think this is a great song but its missing some of that energy that Salem had. The beginning I thought was incredible but I felt that I was still waiting for something that had been building up once I reached the end of the song. At the very end a high treble synth kicks in and I think if that synth continued with a bit more complexity, it would be great! I can see a very tangible evolution in your music. The bells to emerging sihlouette to salem to tahiti clubbin to this. You can see the musical transition. I think this is an all around good song though. Good to see another song from ya.

Catchy &mdash 06/12/07 - 09:33:33 PM
very catchy tune. However the chord changes were very questionable at the end of the song. I like the different drum beat. However the piece overall did not fit the genre of trance. If you want to fit the trance genre I would reccomend listening to DJ Alligators new song "Countdown." Although you are good at making a very catchy melody, it has to be consistent with the chords in the original melody line. Hope you take these comments in the spirit of macjams, cuz i hope that all macjams musicians succeed.
