Description:
This song is national anthem "KI-MI-GA-YO" of Japan.
I arranged it.
Throb and silence.

The artwork is "Katsushika Hokusai" painter of the Edo period.
"Katsushika Hokusai" is a superior ukiyoe master.
His picture was mass-produced with the print.
And, the people enjoyed it at a low price.
He was excellent Entartinar.
This picture is one of the "36 Mt.Fuji-sceneries".
He drew 36 sceneries the Mt. Fuji.

'the world of the emperor'.....scary title..... I've always thought a very miserable and foreboding tune. The same could be said about most national anthems. I like the way you have rocked/jazzed it up here.
Fine arrangement but I would have liked the middle section to 'do' a bit more. Yes, this is nice......might try an arrangement myself....

I purely arranged music.
Thank you very much.

I particularly like... &mdash 06/13/07 - 08:20:12 PM
...the drums on this... During the time that I have been listening to your music, the drums have become more responsive to the song material, more syncopated...

I also love the tone and the phrasing in the guitar...

I don't know this tune, I am sorry to say. I can say that I enjoy the way this version sounds.

I love that Hokusai print, too. Somewhere around the house I have a tiny little book of the Mt. Fuji scenes... I have always liked the one you chose for this, with Fuji in the distance looking like a smaller mountain among the greater ones of the waves... I have also always liked Hokusai's way of drawing waves and spray...

Very enjoyable, Tadashi-san...

The prototype of this song is very quiet.
There is no rhythm.

I gave the rhythm.
You like Hokusai, and are glad.

It is seem suited painting to your room.

Good song. &mdash 06/13/07 - 11:06:22 PM
And thanks for the history lesson. My dad used to tell me stories of him climbing partway up Mt Fuji when he was in the Navy. I wanted to go to Japan, but the Navy sent me to Virginia instead.

Ah, it was possible to understand well.

Your father climbed Fuji.
It was a good climbing mountain.
Thank you very much.

kind as the feel of &mdash 06/16/07 - 07:35:15 AM
the ocean when it is rough and then a quite swell spell. Like that ending, like a push of the wild ocean up the shore. Glad I caught that thought of the ending. Don't know if that was intended but thought it fit in.

Way to do Tad, Like Ed said cool picture too!

Way to Go!

Hey Tadashi-san, this is one of the best things you've done! There's just a hint of "Crest of A Knave" era Jethro Tull in this. Magnificent guitar riffing...I wish I could get that sound!

Be well friend!
