Description:
His art.

Lyrics:
The Art

It's a piece of art, with lots of words.
Burn. Burn.
It has meaning to it; read and learn.
And burn. Burn.

Be brave and dive, right into it.
Walk on its water like Jesus did.
Open up your eyes and be one with it.

It's a piece of art, perhaps it's red.
Blood red. Blood dead.
It doesn't mean a god damn thing.
When it's dead. When it's dead.

Be brave and dive, right into it.
Walk on its water like Jesus did.
Open up your eyes and be one with it.

It's a piece of art that is dead.
Doesn't exist anymore.
It is gone.

We all long for it, search and destroy.
Destroy.

Be brave and dive, right into it.
Walk on its water like Jesus did.
Open up your eyes and be one with it.

Listening to this for the second time as I write this and download at the same time. Very, very original and musically inspirational. Where do your strange ideas come from?
Thank You
Cheers

The lyrics really stood out. I love the organ sound.
Tempo changes and feels are very nice.
It does have a classic feel, but an updated sound.
I just cant get over the lyrics,,just great

A black Velvets painting? &mdash 06/28/07 - 08:42:49 AM
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I'm very jealous that you can make things that have this much grace. You're strolling around in a largely forgotten and underdeveloped parcel of the pop landscape. Great views there.

Thank you all!!! &mdash 06/28/07 - 10:11:26 AM
Finally some time to comment and listen to some MACJAM's music. I totally hate it when I have to work and only have time to peak in here... :)

Doadars Uncle - Thank you very much, your comments means a great deal to me!

Peter - Your words are gold!

pianoman1 - Or, rather Len... I have no idea where my ideas are coming from, they just come. May sound like a simple answer to a complex question, but I've always been like this. I know with this song, I actually had Bob Dylan in mind somewhere in the back... I didn't want to sound like him of course, but his soul where with me.

musichead - Thank you very much! The lyrics does mean a great deal to me, not only in my own music but in any. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.

movitz - Thank you very much!

sonny jim - Thank you for your wonderful comments. This could have been a black velvet one but it was more like a mix of a Jackson Pollock and perhaps a Caravaggio (which at least partially drove me to write the song).

Great song Mikki! &mdash 06/29/07 - 12:26:43 AM
Love the organ sound! Sonny Jim beat me to the comment again - "strolling around in a largely forgotten and underdeveloped parcel of the pop landscape" sums up my thoughts entirely.

One with it &mdash 07/02/07 - 12:32:10 PM
Whether you are making guitar or keyboard-based songs, all of your work is distinct. It's recognizeably the same "sound" each time - yet no two pieces are alike. It's the unique mikkinylund style.

It's the kind of music that is fun to open up the ears and be one with it : >
