Description:
This song reminds me of the Beatles 509, a fun little romp with silly lyrics. A new guy named Curtis stopped by to record this with me, and Chris like usual added some lead guitar. You can check Curtis out at

Curtis Kamiya (Vocals, Lyrics, Rhythm Guitar)
Rich Huston (Bass, Guitar, Mix, Lyrics)
Chris Winters (Lead Guitars)

Lyrics:
Happy To Be Gone

Takin' my time
Walking to the rhythm
of the tire track groves
in the road

I look for a rhyme
Takin' just a moment
to forget where I forgot to go

Know-body knows
No one can remember
to see more than clouds in the sky

I look for a sign
someone to remind me
how to close my eyes
and give it a try

A road, your face, a time a place
It's heaven without you
As long as its without you
It's heaven without you

As long as its without you

Leaving my mind
Leaving all my troubles
on the doorstop
out in the rain

To all those behind
you won't see me waiting
for a single minute
of your day

One of my favs &mdash 06/27/07 - 03:47:27 AM
Like how you guys change your style here. Sort of a clean straight forward pop-rock song. Strong lyrics and playing. It is a little McCartney-like, which I enjoy. Overall outstanding. Curtis........nice solo!

McCartney-like is a great compliment &mdash 06/27/07 - 12:50:05 PM
Yeah, I like to write in different styles, it keeps things from being boring (ie. being in a band, where you just play the same songs over and over). Chris, not Curtis played the solo on this one.

strong production and playing. Nice clean sound. It's a little bit bluesy for me but it's a first-class, professional piece of work.

Thanks Peter &mdash 06/27/07 - 01:08:04 PM
I'm not a huge blues guy, but sometimes its fun to just play something outside your comfort zone. I like how Chris got that George Harrison sound on the track.

like the vocal and style of singin. You have a nice tremelo feel. Like how the words bounce with the band sound. A terrificly fun tune with a lot of great chordal fun-type implementations. Kinda reminds me of earlier Beatles.

Very pop-rock-danceable.

Way to go!

one after 909 &mdash 06/28/07 - 04:18:00 PM
We were definetly going for a Beatles "One after 909" sound which you picked up on. Thanks for the compliments.

Quite enjoyable &mdash 09/08/07 - 01:16:55 PM
and good-sounding.

The first couple of songs i heard had a female vocalist, so i thought you were a woman.

I really like what i've heard by you so far.
