I like... &mdash 06/30/07 - 08:28:16 AM
How you've brought this traditional sound into this age with those improvisations towards the end. All very soothing and pleasant and of course.... skilled! M

Wolfgang? &mdash 06/30/07 - 10:12:23 AM
Do you mind if I call you "Wolfie"? Because you're the closest thing to Mozart we've got at MJ's!

Very pretty. Woah! What funkiness towards the very end! Very clever, once again. I like it. ABA with a twist.

Excellent &mdash 06/30/07 - 01:06:35 PM
I took a look at this and a couple of the other scores. This one sounds very rich using only a few notes. If they are all at this level, this is an excellent resource of organ pieces. I wonder if anyone else could play as them as smoothly at you? Thanks for sharing.

great to come back to &mdash 07/01/07 - 12:11:45 PM
Hehehe, I've been off vacationing for a week, and come back to this... aahhhh. Such a warm-hearted sounding piece. Not only is the organ sound you chose very warm and rich sounding, but the piece itself is very upbeat and even goes meandering off in very whimsical directions near the end. And of course, your playing is pretty much dead-on... have you played organ as well as piano? I've heard (from an organist friend) that it is an entirely different way of playing, since you are literally playing almost 1/4 to 1/2 second ahead of what you are hearing. One thing I noticed, since the pedal notes have a slower attack, they need to be played slightly ahead of the upper registers, otherwise they sound like they are lagging behind the beat slightly... a super-minor point, but one you can easily fix in GB by sliding the lower notes a 1/32nd note forward or so? Nice work!

I love this... &mdash 07/04/07 - 02:52:18 PM
...so friendly and fun.

And short...an attribute shared by many pieces for the classical guitar.

These are great pieces, Paul. I'll check out your website. Thanks so much.

Still blows me away that this is an electronic organ. Such an impressive sound.

There WAS a time... &mdash 07/04/07 - 04:08:34 PM
...when I hardly downloaded anything marked 'classical' on MacJams... Now, between you and Clark and Bill Furner and others, a whole new musical world is opening up...

I really do have to bring your work to the attention of my church's departed musical director, who really is something on the pipe organ... he would love these, I'm sure...

In addition to the composition, which manages to emerge from a very evident classical tradition while also giving a nod to something more modern there toward the end, you are also getting a very nice tone from the organ software...
