Great interplay..... &mdash 07/02/07 - 01:05:51 AM
WOW! I love how this builds....the deep chords, blending with your voice, and how it seems to evolve or transform towards, or at the ending......into pure harmony :)

pure harmony... &mdash 07/04/07 - 10:42:27 PM
...i love that phrase :)

Thank you for listening, and for sharing your lovely perspective on this piece!

Worth the wait! &mdash 07/02/07 - 01:21:03 AM
"a bit of ambient vox" from you is always worth a listen Cat, and this is no exception. I liked the original, but the vocals improve it considerably.
Definitely worth the wait - could still go another 27 minutes and not become dull ;)

Thanks :) &mdash 07/05/07 - 11:25:34 AM
Thank you Neil -- I actually might just expand this at some point. I've thought this might make a good intro for a soundtrack-ish piece.

I appreciate your comments and kind words. Thanks again :)

Haunting, expansive very nice. The distant vocals unique by herself but adds when the harmony enters in. A nice and subtle little piece.

Thanks for sharing,
Patrick

It's so nice... &mdash 07/05/07 - 12:57:43 PM
...to hear from you, Patrick :)

Subtle is what I was going for here. I'm glad that, even though the additions were subtle, they were effective.
Thanks for adding your comments here

Lovely &mdash 07/02/07 - 02:33:07 AM
I especially love the acapella vocals. I hope this doesn't sound strange, but they sound a little like a train whistle in the distance, which is one of my favorite sounds.

Thank you Lisa :) &mdash 07/05/07 - 01:43:16 PM
Every evening at around 11 p.m. a train whistles as it passes through in the distance. I agree; there is something about a train whistle and the close intervals of that sound that is both intriguing and, in a way, comforting.

Thanks for sharing your comments on this song :)

My kind of thing! &mdash 07/02/07 - 08:51:28 AM
The distant vox is a lovely addition - it sounds so achingly mournful. It's nice the way it builds gradually, starting off so subtle, and unobtrusively moving forward until it dominates completely but without losing its otherworldly and untouchable quality.

A Running commentary &mdash 07/02/07 - 10:11:35 AM
Here's a running commentary on my thoughts through this song.

Liking the synths- nice build up
Would be good for an apocalyptic scene in a film
The bongos in the distance is a nice touch.
Really like the soft vocals that occur every now and then.
Yeh pretty good- I didn't hear the other version but this is pretty nice. I can't imagine it being used for anything other than atmosphere music though. It would be excellent with a video to back it up. You should score films you'd be good at it!

Sonically delicious! &mdash 07/02/07 - 12:25:26 PM
You're so damn visual with your tone painting!
Love it!!!
The vocals add another depth of mystery...
Sonically delicious! Soundly nutritious!
You can almost taste the hollow content...

Love the new version! &mdash 07/02/07 - 03:45:24 PM
I think this really fills out the sonic landscape. The original seemed a little thin so this is a nice improvement. Now I'm floating....too bad I have to get back to work!

listening again &mdash 07/02/07 - 04:04:36 PM
the very beginning of this reminds me of The Shining opening credits where the family car is winding its journey through the mountains whilst the camera follows from above. This has a slightly less erie feel...but it there is still a tension there that I like. Your more experimental tracks are getting more and more interesting (and are always enjoyable)
Cheers

Chills!!! &mdash 07/02/07 - 05:15:56 PM
Very dreamy! I love the "classical" feel with the latin drums. Vox ARE Mysitifed!!

I got hints of Clannad .. like incidental music for the
Robin of Sherwood series taken from the Legend album ..
I don't mean it's the same .. I mean it's got that
same enchanting quality. Very nice quality it is too.
Enjoyed it.

imaginative &mdash 07/02/07 - 05:24:25 PM
Very interesting concept. I especially like your arhythmic treatment of the percussion.

Your vocal harmonies are lovely and closely-knit.

The final chord sounded as if the piece was about to go somewhere else...which I wish it HAD. It ended all too soon.

Fabulous!!! &mdash 07/02/07 - 07:17:40 PM
This reminded me of Enya and Sarah Brightman backed by the American super group STYX!!!

What an unusual combination! Bravo.

My only criticism is, is that there isn't enough of a reggae vibe to this which in my opinion would make it sound less 'midi'.

Thank you.

Trippy Ms. Mysty &mdash 07/02/07 - 08:33:54 PM
What holy ancient temple have I stumbled into?

This was a really cool track... &mdash 07/03/07 - 08:03:08 PM
...to begin with, Myst. But the layering in of your ethereal vocals adds a further dimension that makes this an exceptionally tasty sonic treat! It evokes images of cold, damp stone walls; a hall lit by flickering torches, and a very old and musty smell. What was that moving in the dark?!?!

Be well!

anything &mdash 07/04/07 - 03:19:26 PM
but hollow! So trippy, and dreamy. Ambience is too meager a word for the delight in sound you have here. Fabulous vocal, neat synths and
the percussion is oh so tasteful

I'm halfway to designing.... &mdash 07/04/07 - 04:49:23 PM
...in my mind the Mystified world tour stage layout...

You come out for this one in a dry ice fog, with purplish magenta lighting, like the graphic...

And a complicated sound system that swirls the sound around the listeners...

Funny how something so aural can really tap into things so visual...

Sounds very cool, Mysti...

The vocals... &mdash 07/05/07 - 08:08:18 AM
...are very subtle and work extremely well as an instrument within the piece.

Dark and mysterious. I love it.

DIGGIN IT LOUISE &mdash 07/05/07 - 07:22:23 PM
It's like Creep-Trip! Could be the intro to a sci fi thriller! Love it! Your voice sounds sexxy and gothic by the way.

Nice addition. &mdash 07/05/07 - 10:24:00 PM
As was mentioned before, it was subtle, but adds a touch of warmth and fullness. Cool collaboration.

certainly &mdash 07/07/07 - 03:02:20 PM
other-wordly with a strange lost feeling. This music really suits the 'Hollow Earth' theory and if they ever do a film this should be ideal music for it. The vocals are great adding to the whole ambience, wish I could have heard more of it all. As someone already said it's also ideal meditation music, M

Great! &mdash 07/23/07 - 09:54:31 AM
I visited the great 12th century cathedral of Trondheim (Nidaros), Norway, last week on vacation with my family. I think this song, and many other songs of yours!, would sound really great in that building. It is something sacred over it/them.

I played the recorder and, hm, sang in that place as a young teenager as part of a Renaissance ensamble, dressed up in brown velvet! Cool, he...?!

Anyway, well done, as always!

I remain your loyal fan,

Henke
