Feet Wipin' Blues [Iron Jammer entry]

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
Blamm (I think it was) had an idea to do an Iron Chef kind of thing here at MJ. Giovanni came up w/ a title "Wipe your feet off at the door" (which I've altered a bit to keep it distinguished and reflect it's style better). Lots of fun. Turns out to be a nice little metaphor that goes nicely in a blues.

Lyrics
I don't mind you steppin'
out on the town
I don't even mind
if you bring my reputation down

Guess I still love you
'spite all that and more
But please baby, please
Wipe your feet off at the door

It don't matter
where you been last night
It don't even matter
When you get me in a fight

Guess I still love you
'spite all that and more
But please baby, please
Wipe your feet off at the door

Dig it...
I especially like the solo section... you get a great sound out of your guitar. Oh and I have to say your opening grunts rock! Home made bass? Cool...

Thanks. Acoustic sound was just an electret condenser mic (small diaphram)
fairly close to the body of my guitar and running through my hardware
compressor before going into my mac. Lead was just a modified GB preset (I
think I added a bit of 'verb to, maybe stadium. Tele on lead pickup. Nice
heavy glass slide on both of 'em. Both tuned to open D.

Home-made bass refers to my oldest axe. It started life as a $100 Kay bass
back in the late 70's - the only thing left of that is (I think) the neck/nut/
tuners. (maybe one or both of the pots). The body was built out of maple and
native (Iowa) walnut by me and my father back in about '80. The pickups are
DiMarzio "P" and the bridge is a Baddass (brand).

Glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun doing this one. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks brutha. I've felt a little guilty because I'd just gotten a nice bass line
done on your Moanin' blues and I put it aside to work on this over that
weekend, and then when I finished this, I found that mcsweb had put
something eerily similar to what I'd done w/ Moanin' (to that point) - so I let
it lie. Then I got busy w/ a couple other things w/ Daphna. Just listened to
Moanin' this AM and thought about you. I amy still pull something out of that
one... was still thinking of trying to add a lyric line to it.

Glad you enjoyed this one though. I had a lot of fun putting it together.
