Description:
Here's yet another of my maniac ragtime piece for band. I have a problem in that most concert band members are rather "square" people, and my bizarre music finds favor with only a few bands beyond the pale. The sinister titles don't help either.
After writing this piece, I was still somewhat manic, and I had the bizarre idea that I should make the spurious claim that the piece was in fact the suppressed soundtrack to the Zapruder film, and that the music was not by me, but merely an arrangement of music by nightclub owner Jack Ruby. I figured that the notoriety would help draw attention to it, and the conspiracy idiots'll believe anything.
Well, I'm trying to sell scores and parts, and so I realized that such mischief would queer the enterprise and get me into trouble with the Department of Fatherland Scrutiny or the Center for Ease Control as well, so I simply titled it "Evil Clowns Skulk By Night," but even that wasn't mild enough, as I've already received complaints.
This new version adds 32 bars of saxophone trio.
If you know someone who plays in a community or school band please tell them that the score and parts for this piece are available for a token fee at my SibeliusMusic page, where you can watch the notes go by as the music plays.

need me to tell you with such talent, that this is excellent in every respect. I could imagine this music in some future film of Toy Story as they get lost in some intimidating/ menacing fairground. Just something about the rgimented sound of the brass in parts gave me the fairground feel, M [ Reply to This ]

This has a very organ-like sound. Definitely demented!
In other words, fantastic.
Good variety in the wind parts. Very whimsical writing.
The dotted eighth/sixteenth rhythms in the drums is hypnotic. It goes on and on...and then changes nicely after the "William Tell" section.
Great use of bells after that!
Being a Sibelius user myself, I am curious how you coordinate your score with the sound-generator and other music software. I would really appreciate some tips if you possibly have the time.
This is a very imaginative piece. I think that a band would enjoy playing it very much! I'll point some band-playing folks in Tucson in your direction.
