Description:
Happy July 4th!!! Once again, I had a boring day off from work, so I thought I would do what I love doing the most; making music. I used GB3 and Nexus AU. THis is kind of an odd piece, in that it's not really so much a dance track, but more of a song you can just put on in the background and enjoy. Of course, you are always welcome to dance to it, if you so please. Anyway, hope you all enjoy my latest offering to the MJ community. Take care! Have a safe holiday!

Love it. &mdash 07/04/07 - 03:40:04 PM
I love electronic music that is simple and clean, like this. Excellent for zoning out to on a boring day. Happy Fourth! Great job man.

smooth as a silky snare drum &mdash 07/05/07 - 09:38:04 AM
super sweet stuff here... you have a knack for builds, swells, creating anticipation, and consummating a satisfying coda, or bridge to the next swell. Nice dark swirly bits in here. I liked the little baroque-sounding arpeggios that come and go. Very listenable, this... as usual. The only dry part was the slowly building snare early on, which was a bit of a cliche... possibly wrap it in some flanger distortion near the end of its crescendo or something to give it some Luxxian character.

Good to hear from you again, my fire-breathing friend! I thought this might tempt you out of your lair. ;-) Thanks much for the wonderful comments and suggestions. They arre much appreciated! I have been thinking of adding a few more elements to this track, to keep the listener more entertained. I have listened to this tune over 100 times and the drum rolls are mis-placed (IMO). They are also a little harsh sounding as well. I love it when a song like this comes out of my head and into my Mac, because it then allows me to get really excited about adding all of the cool elements that make it "Ooh-so-Luxx". Thanks again Drak! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Be well!

O man those textures........ &mdash 07/05/07 - 08:19:18 PM
The textures are absolutely stellar. I feel like im racing through the core of the earth. Dude, this would work as background music but to me its perfect for just listening intently.
Awesome!!!!!........

Drakonis suggested I stopped by, and glad I did. Contemplative and rich - really enjoyable.

Wow &mdash 07/11/07 - 05:19:06 AM
Am I a fan?! I even got two fan-pics, however that happened, maybe because I am a "twin"?

Anyway, I hear a lot of interesting things going on in here. Sounds from Vangelis and Tangerine Dream (my two all time favorites) and others that I can't put a name to* - but then you have put it all together in a dance-like setting that is quite irresistable. Very well done!

* Maybe I am thinking of Geoffe Downes. I have got an old cassette tape with an album called The New Dance Orchestra. It has some of this feeling. My brother gave it to me saying it was a new TD-album, but that was easy to crack. OK, maybe Vangelis but not TD! But it was this Geoffe Downes. Heard of him?

Thanks for the download - I've got a collection to fill a whole CD from you now. 17 songs! Big thanks!!!!

Your fan
/Henrik

Ouch &mdash 07/11/07 - 05:51:05 AM
Should have Googled first... Geoff(rey) Downes wrote songs for Yes, is an ol' Asia member and has made some albums with John Wetton. In iTunes store there are a few albums for sale. The only song i recogize from my tape is East West. The Album Vox Humana - The New Dance Orchestra does not sound like my tape, nor much like your song...

Sorry for this diversion...

WOW! &mdash 07/11/07 - 01:38:44 PM
MANY MANY thanks to you for being such a loyal fan of mine! :-) I really appreciate all of your comments and you certainly have a LOT of my songs too! Wow! Thanks for the comparison to Yes, Tangerine Dream et al. It's flattering to be compared to such great artists. I have been exploring different avenues with my music lately. I suppose I am trying to find a certain "sound" and style that is uniquely mine. Very much like Miss Chaos and Carl Ginsberg here at MacJams, have their own distinct sound. I think you know what I mean when I say that. For instance, when I hear a track from Carl (ginz111), I know that it's from him. A very unique sound that is ALL his own. The same goes for Miss Chaos. They are BOTH great musicians, in my opinion, and they have a presence that's all their own and are instantly recognisable to me. Tha's what I am striving for (among other things). Such as getting all of my levels to come out even when I put an album together. Getting the compression, limiter settings just right and sounding as close to professional as I possibly can, with the limited equipment and knowledge I have available to me at the moment.

Thanks again for being such a great fan! Take good care and keep an eye (or ear) out for new tunes from me. I have a few unfinished pieces that I can't seem to get finished due to musical road-blocks. Have a great day/evening! Peace & be well!

Thanks Boris! &mdash 07/22/07 - 01:32:42 PM
That is an honorable goal to be sure - a very good one. Something for everyone to strive for, I guess. As a matter of fact, if you have not already got there, you sure are close! So keep up the good work!
