loud and clear
the bass and the verse rhyme pattern of the beginning remind me of Pere Ubus's final solution, which is always good. Otherwise I'm impressed by the clarity of the sound, especially your voice.

For some reason...
...I feel like I should be sitting in a dark, somewhat crowded club listening to this being played really loud - possibly sometime in the late 70s or early 80s (of course I would have been too young to be in such a club at the time.) It's a great feeling and a great sound. Enjoyed it.

Echo-y room
Wow Steve, you're really rockin' out on recent tracks. I love the intro with the echo-y drums, the verse is great and then the chous really pushes it up a few notches. this reminds me a little of Televisions later work. Really clear mix - everything given space in the track. Really like the change in the vocals in the chorus - gives the track a great feel.

You're on a roll at the moment!

Yep...big fan of Television...also been listening a lot to The Only Ones recently. Great band!
Its fun to rock out a bit after doing so many mellow acoustic tracks!
Thanks for listening in

Little Johnny Jewel...
...wait, let's try singing that as, "little Stevey L"...

Yeah, I think that scans....

Neat guitar licks, Steve. Gotta be the Devonshire clotted cream and the unpretentious Tetley... Ends up....I dunno...Phat and yet tannic...

very loud
bass and I thought I wasn't going to like this at first, but glad I did listen through. Great smooth movement with this and the chorus is really musical and catchy. One of my fave's, M

Loose As A Goose
I really like the way you are just firing those lyrics out like a cannon and your guitar supports the forceful way this song forges ahead! Something very fun about just letting it rip and not worrying about anything but letting the music explode!

Phat and tannic ..
.. sounds like something Sting would be into ;)

Big, round sounds - lovely guitar tones as usual Steve. Clear as a bell, very Knopfler sounding licks in places. To me, the drums seem to lag a tad, but maybe it's a genre thing that I'm unaware of.
A good one Steve,
Neil

I like
these grungy numbers you're doing at the moment and I sense you're enjoying a break from the acoustic stuff. The guitar sound on this is a somewhat more mellow than Television's to my ears - and your vocals are much better (and I'm a big fan of Television). I rather like the drum track - it carries this along nicely.

Another cool tune - nice guitars all around
I hear the Verlaine vocal thing too - but again I'm reminded of Kevin Ayers - but not as sphomoric as he can get at times. Do you know him? By the end the production also reminds me a little of Te Jesus and Mary Chain. Sorry for all the comparisons - but they're all high scores in my book. Your own flavor and lyrics rock by the way.

Yes...I like all those artists you mention so thanks for the comparison. Kevin Ayers is cool of course...I think my voice is a bit similar to his at times!
Cheers for listening in
