Description:
Facing the reality of mortality
(and the death of my cat).

Lyrics:
wake up now darlin'
you need some sun on your face
we both had a hell of a night
everything is together , yeah, that's why
all is one
you think you're falling straight up into space

time won't be kind to your earthly body
i know you've come a long way
you're not just yourself you're a
self in a body
and the stream will just carry that away

Goodbye

despite yourself you succumb to-
you thumb through the leaves
and set your book right back on the ground
everything fits together, yeah, that's why
all is one

there's nothing but silence all over the place

time won't be kind to your earthly body
i know you've come a long way
you're not just yourself you're a
self in a body
and the stream will just carry that away

Goodbye

Such a sad...... &mdash 07/05/07 - 12:20:11 PM
reality that all that has life will one day return to dust - but oh such a fine memorial this song is - very nicely done on all fronts - is this a one man band creating all this I am hearing? Loops? Again well done.

...to me, is often the best way to look at things like life, death, love and loss. This is a great song. Musically very interesting and the lyrics really speak well to the subject. It's beautiful and has a nice, ethereal, almost haunting feel. Very nice.

Sorry about your cat. The loss of a loved pet is always tough.

... and hi. &mdash 07/05/07 - 01:36:50 PM
This track has such a great feel - the mix is really good, and the instrumentation gently supports the wonderful vocal - you've got a really good set o' lungs on you. This is a complete, rounded track, 5th on the album. I love the odd, distorted noises in the background, contrasts nicely with the natural sound of the other instruments.

Did I mention i love your voice.

Fookin' stormin' track.

Steve

This is a masterful performance of a beautifully written song. Brought a tear to my eye. My dalmatian is 12 now and I dread the day.

Strange and exotic, perhaps in the language of cats.

We all serve the same fickle Master... Time... and he is often very cruel, indeed.

I have a 15-year-old Peeek-a-Poo that lives with my Ex. That furry little guy is still my best friend. I dread the day I get that phone call. Sorry for your loss.

Really fine... &mdash 07/10/07 - 10:46:01 AM
...chord changes and harmonies. Production's really nice, too.

The lyrics are serious...

Love this tune.

Brilliant... &mdash 07/11/07 - 05:07:55 PM
...and very well played, sung and recorded. But "one"? Perhaps not exactly...

Allow me to illustrate:

The dualist is like a camera man who puts the foreground into such focus that the background fades into a blur.

The monist is like a camera man who puts the background into such focus that the foreground fades into a blur.

---the second is as partial and misleading a perspective as the first. Indeed, monism can be thought of as simply dualism turned inside out and vice versa.

An answer to this dilemma---the age old problem of the One and the Many--- can be found in Process Philosophy in the West and in certain schools of Buddhism in the East.

Zen says it succinctly thus: "Not one-not two." The upshot is that, in the end, reality will not likely conform to what we have been taught. I look forward to whatever is next...

Sorry to ramble on. Take consolation in the fact that your lovely tune inspires deep thinking and feeling and rejoice!

Be well friend!
