I think having fresh strings helps. Really, especially the classical guitar. I love playing with them. I just wish I could have a robot around so I don't have to hassle with changing them. They say about two weeks is the avg. for changing. But I guess it can very in that if you really do intense playing. Thanks much Tom for commenting and your participation in MJ! Thanks on both counts! Check out my latest song called The Bluebird Cafe (with two other guest)

Beautiful. A more introspective and free version than the last one, but very soulful and lovely as well. It's a Segovia-like approach, meaning very, very romantic (as in the romantic period). It's obvious that you're feeling the music deeply. Beautiful. I notice in both versions that you have an uusually dark sound for classical guitar. It's a nice sound, just far darker than other classical guitar recordings, and I am wondering if this is because your guitar itself is a fairly dark sounding instrument, and/or if you equalized the sound in such a way as to emphasize lower frequencies? Mic-ing Thanks for the input. I wanted to bring out the depth of the guitar with out the treble sounding too plastic like. One thing I noticed in the steel string is that there is more substance to the 1st and 2nd strings, if played and recorded right, especially playing beautifully constructed acoustic pieces. It is a fine line trying to record both type of instruments because both are so demanding to mic right. It's an eternal quest I think to get that holy grail of recording perfection, especially with the nylon stringed 1st, 2nd and third strings. Thanks for the input! Ah Yes Within you there is a passionate, romantic emotion which really comes out in this playing! To me that's one of the attractions of playing music is that you can put your emotions into your playing and gain a sort of release. I bet you feel more relaxed when you are playing then at any other time. The intense concentration that you obviously have to have to play guitar at this level doesn't leave any room for anything else and in essence you have escaped the world for awhile and all of us who listen can do the same. Thank you! Check out my latest song called Strange Feeling

I love playing things that are really catchy though, I don't really do things that are to far way out there. But if it is a very catchy melody, it is something that I am very addicted to as long as it deals with fingerstyle methods. Thanks again for all the kind words. What I need... ...is a fancy DeputyDoofy script that'll just automatically 'fave' whatever you post. Save me a lot of time... I'm actually not a big classical guitar fan or listener, Bill, in 'real life', but you bring such focus and passion to whatever corner of guitaristry you're working on, that something of you comes through that is always worth hearing... This is also very nice Without listening to both of them together, I can't say I noticed much difference, except that this one seems to flow even more naturally from the guitar to my heart! Check out my latest song called What a Friend We Have in Jesus

Great I have several versions of famous classical players playing this piece-I must say yours is one of my favorites.Classical guitarists I think tend to put too much emphasis on absolute perfection and often forget about playing with emotion.(Oh no! I made a slight squeaking sound when I shifted my hand!) I got to see Julian Bream play a couple of times-he made lots of mistakes but the FEELING was there.(Not that you are making any mistakes.)You certainly know how to play with feeling!
