Description:
Not to bombard everyone with a ton of recordings, but once i start recording its hard to stop and it feels pointless taking the time if i'm not going to share it with anyone (a great reason i think why i stopped playing for so long.)this was recorded one track then i copy and pasted and put a little reverb. i used a piece of cardboard instead of a pick because thats what i had to use while on vacation and using my uncle's guitar (he had no picks) and i thought it had a softer sound then the heavy picks i have since i seem to be out of think ones which i prefer on accoustic :/ i originally wrote this a while ago when my ex gf and i were sort of becoming back together again. she always went to see me play live at the coffee shop. and thats what this was about.. i sang it for her, and yes she was in front.. will probably add some picking or maybe even do finger picking a little and play this with out a pick.
Lyrics:
she was crying
my heart bleed
so it turned away
watched her walk through the door
i see your eyes
they're watching me
you know this one's for you
so you left, here i am
right by your side like before
i held on through the coldest nights watched her heart break in two slowly my heart turned to black still it fought for you
i was sitting in your room
and saw the knife on the table
but i looked away
and stayed alive for you
chorus..
2nd verse
here i am, here i am
just like before
here i am, here i am
just for you, just for you

Nice tune &mdash 07/07/07 - 11:38:36 AM
I'll have to say, I haven't listened to any of your tunes in a while, but you have really come a long way, Chance. This is a really nice tune and you did a really good job with the "one take" recording. It has a very good live, but intimate setting feel about it. The song is really heartfelt and that comes across well. Nice job all around. [ Reply to This ]
