i swear i won't post this song again for a very long time lol. i'm sure everyone on this site is tired of all the recordings of this song. but once again re-worked, melody changed around, sung higher(seems that though with singing it has been hardest for me to raise my vocal range i stay in tune better in a higher range) so after my many months MIA here is an old song ive been working on for what 3 years now? finally in the form i want it. this for the most part is how it sounded in my head i think when i write it. hmm the girl i wrote this about didn't like it because she said it sounds stereo typical. funny thing is when i play live this is a favorite.

Hey, this is sounding quite a lot better... what an improvement! Your guitar strumming is now strong and even. Your singing is on key... and its a nice set of chords you got there, I want to tell you that your practicing is paying off! Do you feel it? Next will be singing lessons to not sing from the nose, but from the heart...
I'm excited to hear such great progress in you. Keep it up!

haha yea i noticed that. i was a bit off today. i had just woken up and also had something stuck in my throat from eating so it was coming out a bit not right, but i decided to just not worry and get this up because it's better then what was up and is how i want it melody wise and everything. recordings never liked me, but i'm getting over it. working on getting live shows again!

And that is just the way I like it. You drew my attention through your lovely mature comments on the forum. Although this song wont reach the number 1 spot, the lyrics are from the heart, the guitar just accompanies it. I would suggest playing it a tad slower, so you can focus more on the way you sing it, it sometimes seems like you're grasping for air/ focusing on playing the guitar, or you have a nasal voice in which case you could disregard this last comment. The reason why peeps like it is cos it is from the heart. And the endresult is that you like to play the song, feel the song and the peeps enjoy the song. Strong lyrics, mind u, when u get older the way you feel about women wont change, perhaps the words will change (like becoming mature= becoming shallow/flat).

actually i think i may have been playing a little slow lol. i was singing a little nasal in the recording cuz i had just woken up was out of it and made the mistake of eating something so it was kinda stuck in my throat and this wasn't the best take but that's alright. thanks for the comment :)

i like the words, tempo, chords, melody and your vocal delivery (nasal or not). i might try adding a harmony, and maybe a touch of cello on the choruses towards the end (just so it builds a little more), although IMHO less is always more. [ Reply to This ]

thanks, selters had added a violin track at one time may put that back into the mix. i wish i had a violin still id do a live violin and not synth

And one more thing! have you never try to record your guitar and singing in 2 steps, first play the guitar and after you can focus on singing... it's only me thinking..... Take care... You wrote a song for her and she put it down? She's a big dummy. You poured out your heart and I think it's a beautiful song!
If you want some vocal advise, I would say work on your breathing a little so your voice can become richer. You have a great quality to your voice, but it could be fuller. It's there, you just have to bring it out.
I can totally see why this song is a live favorite! I'll bet the girls scream for you!

thanks this is an older recording. the breathing issues seem to always happen when i record cuz i have troubles feeling comfortable tho ive tried to fix that issue. it's been a long struggle. seems that certain days i will be perfect singing and others i simply suck lol. perhaps it's something in the air. this is one i plan to redo soon. i'm trying to record a cd and i'm sure i can't leave this one out lol. and yes it was mean of the girl.. that was a messed up time.. i remember being called a "stupid emo ki" and told i should kill myself.. funny thing was it was her who made me even have emotions in the first place.. oh the girl was alexz.. hence the screenname lol [ Reply to This ]
