Henke (24)Henkes Movie Music (4)Beethoven (12)Für Elise (1)piano (622)
Description:
Well now, I wonder what you'll have to say about this. Hope you won't hate me... This builds on Beethoven's ol' Für Elise, but with a somewhat different twist.

Everyone hates to hear it played, right? But beginners often choose it to practise on, no? So what are the neighbours thinking? Not happy. What are you gonna do? Probably flip out totally in some way, I guess. This one flies away on his/her imagination while playing the tune automatically. Or something.

There are not many tracks in it but they are all played by me [blush]. No loops. My own banging on furniture and my own window...

So, feel free to say what your heart tells you - about this song and/or the original!

Artwork: Me or the "evil" neighbour?

Lyrics:
Muffled: "I'm trying to sleep here!"

"Aarggh."

Hardware:
Casio CTK-611 midi synth (-ish), Logitech USB headset for microphone (sounds great doesn't it ;-) ) and the old PM G5 2x2.

Software:
Just GB3.

Experimental? &mdash 07/11/07 - 10:02:16 AM
This is mainstream. We love you.

After listening &mdash 07/11/07 - 10:13:16 AM
to your Electropop song, I guess you are not kidding. Still it is kind of experimental for me. Just trying to get going with old GB again after several months of [silence]. Still, thanks for having a go at it and for commenting!

I am picturing the "evil" neighbor now, face tied in knots after hearing this beautiful melody for the 57,000th time...

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Skean! &mdash 07/12/07 - 03:34:10 PM
Maybe I could have done even better on the actual piano piece, but once I thought of this idea, I thought it would add to the funny part that it is not perfect... (Clever, don't you think ;-)

Thanks for dropping by!

I don't know.... &mdash 07/12/07 - 03:01:15 PM
....if this piece would make Beethoven proud but i bet Mozart would have loved it!
This was better than acid! Love the concept and execution. I imagined myself as a little boy practicing something repititiously wooing myself into a meditative day dream state. Nice work!

Well I'm sure I always preferred Garageband to Acid - even if that was the first program I made loop songs in ;-)

I just listened in on your latest (The Queen's Party) - that was a really professional one. Rocking hard! I guess my eveil neighbour would have banged his head to that song too ;-)

Big thanks for popping by and writing a comment!

Merry go round &mdash 07/25/07 - 07:39:10 AM
And around and around we go, it's the same theme but different. But not too different.

For an experimental piece this was actually fairly gentle. Based on the title I'd been expecting something more abbrasive.

Very nice.

Thanks Vic! &mdash 07/25/07 - 07:57:15 AM
I guess the title does hint at something "tougher". Couldn't think of another, though.

About experimental, it was that for me. I think I added classical and maybe ambient in the submit song form, but I never knew if that pops up anywhere on the site?!

Thanks for listening and commenting! Always appreciated!

Nice! &mdash 08/11/07 - 05:46:55 PM
I love it when music tells some story.

I had an piano student, who tried to play an easy version of Beethovens 9th Sinfonie "Song of Joy", and always missed one key at the same place. He repeated it again and again and again. Finally my (fomer, now I live seperated) wife came in and shouted: "Stop now! I am going nuts!"

BTW, I hope it was your hand, not your head banging on the furniture...;-)

Thanks a lot for sharing, I really enjoyed it!

Greetings,

Bernd

Well thank you Bernd &mdash 08/12/07 - 11:21:58 AM
for telling me this story. It was fun and I understand how she must have felt.

I have a beautiful song by former ABBA-boys Björn and Benny, in the musical Kristina von Duvemåla (that looks strange but I don't know what it is called in other languages...), that ends in a note sung in a way I just can't stand. I always throw myself on the volume to silence the woman!

And yeah, it was just hand banging, not head banging ;-)

Glad you liked it!

Why do people &mdash 03/29/08 - 03:07:46 PM
hate Fur Elise? Right, thats it I hereby start the "Save the Fur Elise" society ....but before the men in the pink van put me in the backward facing jacket on the way to the rubber room may I say what a fun and refreshing take on it this is ....good natured fun poking and a fine twist of humour..right ..I'll run along to me padded room now..

Hi! &mdash 04/01/08 - 04:10:44 PM
IF it is actually true that people "hate" it, I THINK it may have to do with the fact that many not too proficient piano players (like myself) play it in a somewhat not perfect way. I am sure that a well played version could work for most piano music lovers...

Thanks for stopping bye and for your funny comment!

Oh, thank you! &mdash 04/06/08 - 10:30:17 AM
It is SO not Beethoven's fault if people don't like good ol' Elise. In my case one of the problems is that I never got passed the first page of music. I'm sure it gets better further on, the parts that hasn't gone through your head those 57.000 times...

Take care,

/Henke
