Description
I had an image in my head of being on a beach on a perfect evening. That inspired me to write this song. Hope you like it.

Lyrics

The wind whispered to you to leave your world behind.

You smiled at me quite softly, said you'd tried it once or twice.

The flickering firelight lit your eyes up while you spoke.

As the soft breeze made the flames dance with the smoke.

Can you feel the sand between your toes?

The sound of the waves is taking me to somewhere else,

where the morning doesn't come too soon.

Where this night never ends, and I spend it here with you.

Where the sunset met the water, the sky turned gold and red.

And the sunlight bathed the ocean while we walked along it's edge.

It's the perfect ending to a perfect day with you.

At the edge of the world, with the perfect view.

Can you feel the sand between your toes?

The sound of the waves is taking me to somewhere else,

where the morning doesn't come too soon.

Where this night never ends, and I spend it here with you.

I'd do anything you say to keep you here with me.

But like you said, it's not that easy...

Can you feel the sand between your toes?

The sound of the waves is taking me to somewhere else,

where the morning doesn't come too soon.

Where this night never ends, and I spend it here with you.

Here with you.

Here with you.

Here with you.

Some day...
...I'll write and sing like this... I'm practicing! Very nice
style you have here. The balance is right on. Performance
and production are great. And the sound effects are just
the right touch.

Toad?
I LOVE Toad! I didn't realise it had a Toad sound but it's possible I suppose. I
never really think about it and don't make any concious effort to sound like
anyone else other than me. This is a bit more upbeat than my normal stuff.
Wasn't supposed to sound like TWS but hey, I'll take it!

cheers

Joy and romance in your voice
I love your voice and delivery; such a great alternative
folk-rock voice. It speaks of a joy and romanticism that I
appreciate and applaud. This is a very well balanced and
composed song, and the playing is very good. The track
would be helped with bass and a simple yet hiply
contemporary percussion to move it forward and proved
variation; the track is a little sparse without it. But this is
lovely, and a really nice song.

That's my kinda song.
I love your voice, Wifty. Very, very nice. And, needless to
say, I'm a sucker for acoustic guitar and harmonies. Good
work. I wonder if you debated whether or not to leave the
beach sounds playing all the way through...I think it works
well.

I'm using GB with a Shure PG58 Mic and M-Audio Keystation 49-e plugged into a Behringer Eurorack UB502 (if anyone's interested!) and occassionally a Yamaha YAS-23 Alto sax. For my earlier stuff, I've got a Samick acoustic guitar plugged in using... [see more]
