Non-stick Boogie

Description
This is a track that owes its origins to Drum and Bass but that I've mangled in some ways, such as the percussion being the only sounds that are always with the beat. All other tracks/sounds are not sticking to the beat, hence the title and the fact that it is placed under 'Experimental'. It also has elements of Lo-fi as well.

It's been mixed just as an experiment, to see if a listeners interest can be held from beginning to end.

Beat
Interesting sound. There must be some relationship between the other sounds and the beat, because it doesn't sound random and disjointed. Well worth a listen. Thanks for sharing.

It's not totally random,,,,,
There were 6 bass loops, 1 break loop, 2 fx loops and 5 synth loops and I mixed and matched but the bass loops overlapped the drum break loop, so the total sound, to me, is not sticking to the beat, hence the 'teflon' title.

Thanks for listening and leaving a comment.

Paul.

The drums, the drums.......
The drums were a loop, as were all the sounds.

I've left the list in my previous comment.

I played around until the mix sounded as though it were three or four dance rhythms, mixed into one file, and thought that this was nearly a proper piece of music as it almost sounded continuous.

I'm glad you enjoyed your listen.

Take care.

Paul.

I'm happy that you find some of my uploads OK.

My only straight piano upload is 'For a Birthday Girl' which was recorded as an improvisation on a synth and via an old crystal microphone. The quality is terrible but the tune isn't too bad.

As you can probably deduce from my varied output, I bounce off of walls a lot!!

Take care.

Paul.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]

Experimental music is any music that challenges the commonly accepted notions of what music is. There is an overlap with avant-garde music. John Cage was a pioneer in experimental music and defined and gave credibility to the form. As with other edge
