Description
I am reading this book on 2012, which I often do, and kept bugging Chris that this werid song we've been working on is the 2012 anthem, so, yeah, here it is. I hope everyone enjoys their last 5 years before the change...

Lyrics, Guitar, Vocals: Chris Winters
Bass, Drums Mix and weird sounds: Rich Huston

Lyrics
It’s time to make amends and ring the final bell
This world is gonna end and we’ll go to hell
Letters we never sent and secrets we’ll never tell
It isn’t worth a single cent in 2012

Some say it’s been foretold since the ancients fell
I say it’s getting old and let’s bid this farewell
We feel it’s getting cold but you say it’s time to sell
I say let’s break the mold in 2012

Truth is just a casualty
Something needing overhaul
By a self-annointed papacy
And their unthinking thrall
No end to the lunacy
I’m afraid that after all
In the name of legacy
They’ll murder us all

Whipped around until I’m sick on this carousel
Someone says I’ve got to pick my own personnel
On one side is the lunatic, the other is the infidel
Someone bring me arsenic, it’s 2012

the sky is falling!
What book are you reading? I'm very interested in things like the Mayan calander and the coming of the end, or is the end just a beginning of a new world? Cool tune here. Ominous and foreboding are the melody and the very cool eerie guitar stuff!

The End
hah - isn't it great how Chris sings 'this world is going to end'?

i like the contrast of the distorted guitar with the light, almost reggae guitar in the verse. Great dark lyrics - gave the song a really dark character. Such a happy little bass riff in such a dark song - works sooo well.

Bass Line
I like how the bass counterpoints the whole sound of the song, making it melodic. One of my favorite bass lines (a tad sloppy, but it fits in the chaos)

Outta my head
... I still haven't touched out of my Head, as I'm working with Racerat on a track and he is a genius with Logic, so I'm waiting to see how he mixes the guitars on the track we're doing before I tackle our track ..... and jeez Chris put a lotta guitars down. So i haven't forgotten ... i just want to get a bit better before i do it!

Very cool!
Solid track guys. The distortion and dissonance really sounds great. Very cool bassline. The lyrics are brilliant as well.

I think
that this is so advanced and brilliant that it could be a number one in 2012. Wouldn't that be great luck - finally make it and the world ends.
Fantastic.
Cheers

Tin Machine
Interesting that you say that. Our writing approach is totally based on stuff I've read in interviews with Gabriel and Bowie.
