Yeman, thank you so much...
It really means allot to me coming from such a fine guitarist. I used a "classic rock" drum loop played at a tempo of 140. It makes very happy that this music is nice for you to listen to in the morning. I will keep playing, and trying to bring something of an uplifting nature to the listener. With so much war in the world, and bad treatment of the earth, it becomes more and more difficult to feel happy, but ofcourse we must not let negative forces bring us down, we need to be strong if we are to realize our dream of peace throughout the world. You are stronger, you bring beautiful music to the world, while having endured the senseless, immense hardship brought upon your region of the world. Here is to you.

Cool
Nice piece Ian, pleasant to listen...
I like this style, which remember me the genre of Cro, Still and Nash...
Your tune seems to me adapted for a vocal, don't you think ?
Thanks
Marc

Thanks Marc...
Crosby, Stills, and Nash, yes I can see the connection. My first take of improvisation in the Indian Bhoopali raga here at macjams was said to be like an Indian Grateful Dead. I seem to be headed straight towards the 60's. Perhaps it is a natural consequence of working with my Indian instruction these days, as India had much to do with the peace movement of that time, surely since they have always tought love is the answer to ridding the world of problems. I am sure my sudden delve into India is rooted in the darkness that has descended upon the world more so ever than I have ever seen in my life, craving the light they have always seemed to be the keeper's of.

Thank You Feter!!!...
I was thinking of just such a thing, I had in mind the times from my youth of town musicians gathering to play music, everybody enjoying the moment. The moment was right to be uplifting, as there has been a break in the heat, with a sunny but cool weather, a nice breeze. Been so worried about the high temperatures lately, the cooling makes me feel the earth has a better chance to survive, and maintain life!!!

Summer sound
It's a beautiful sunny day here in Detroit and this song just made the day even brighter! This song has a very feel-good breeze blowin' through the air, tropical drink in my hand hanging with the one I love sort of vibe. Nice!

Thank You,...
very nice words, I was just over at your page, you are a terrific guitarist, so this makes me very happy!!! I am in Southern California, and it has been awfully hot here lately, but the drought has been affecting the whole world, however, yesterday we had a break in the heat, sun but just that, cool air, I put my fan and drank mint water. I think this sudden change put the tropics in me after such a dry spell.

taking flight
Listening to your fine catalog of music, it strikes me that modern musicians have to deal with something different than players of old ... and that is the process of recording. While it's apparent many of your recordings are not "perfect," the flaws are not significant enough to be off-putting. That is, what comes through clearly, through the convergence of digital recording and the internet, is we feel we are priviledged to hear you play your guitar ... because with you, it is the act of playing that is primary.

And those moments here - when a perfect balance is acheived between the playing and recording - are exquisite!

Some of these melodies are downright dangerous. They'll stick in your head as endlessly re-occurring loops.

For me, your Spanish-influenced pieces happily recall a delightful evening in Sevilla, when I took in a flamenco performance during a recent vacation in Spain (March 2007). The blend of singing, dancing and guitar-playing was memorable.

I especially love those rumbas.

And I love how you are now inculcating an "Eastern" influence into you music.

Making music is at once simple and complex. Getting all of the aspects of a performance right - and doing the same for the recording part of it - can be a very difficult and challenging thing. However, the imperfections of timing or balance or equalizations here are secondary. It's obvious where your affinity lies: in the act of improvised playing, when you become one with the instrument and the music.

Those secondary considerations can be improved. Indeed, that's one of the benefits of participating in this online community: it makes us get better at deficiencies we tend to ignore. In your quest for musical transcendence, your songs already have wings. The way your recordings keep improving - it's ready to soar.

Thank You Warren...
A very nice comment, it really is heart warming the time you have taken comment at such length to the catalog I have produced here, it really means allot to me. Yes, it is hard to be producer and artist, but ofcourse much of the art is in producing, as we can now can be our own publisher with the net. Though you are right, my production has been less than perfect, I have been concentrating more on the playing, but I felt the same way, production and guitar came together on this piece. I am limited with my equiptment, as I understand that most here are working with two mics, because they use an interface, but I use a mic that plugs directly into the usb port, a usb mic. I feel
that it gets a good enough sound to record with, but ofcourse two mics and an interface would be better. I thank you much, and am so glad the guitar playing compensates for the sophistication of the equiptment, that was very nice of you to say. Rumbas are among my favorite to play, so I am so happy you liked them. You said I am begining to sprout wings, that is a very nice thing to hear. I don't think one could hope for more than that, I just I hope I can navigate!!!
