Description:
Hello Brother ...

Lyrics:
fishes go round in circles and the silence which glides on the river side
does not announce anything good to them they make three circles and go away

three circles and then they go as scouts going off to reconoitre
looking for their playing companion but no you are not on the bridge anymore

toi tu as changé d'existence ailleurs jusqu'à l'infini
you you have just changed your existence elsewhere into infinity
we have to bow to the evidence the game is now over

I am getting mad since your departing sunday
straight on to the other dimension in one bound unobtrusively

unobtrusively on the embankment you left us suffering
our heart torn by deep furrows while you all things considered you're left in peace

all things considered you're left in peace even though you mark yourself out by your absence
I know your huge operating range boundless on the horizon

toi tu te coules des vacances voyage jusqu'à l'infini
you you just enjoy holidays travelling into infinity
avec toi l'assurance du dépaysement garanti
with you it's guaranteed change of scenery

fishes go round in circles neer the embankment on the point of departure
each in turn they go away as a legion on your steps companion

Paying... &mdash 07/13/07 - 05:18:53 AM
a return visit when I listened to this beautiful rendition. Terriffic singing and emotion. Even though I don't speak French or understand the words there is such an emotion here it's almost spiritual and there is no detraction from the wonderful performance. The production the instruments and of course that wonderful accordian (which I love) make this one of the most enjoyable songs I've heard anywhere. I love it, M

Thanks for this comment, which touches me deeply Maurice.
This song of my heart is a wink to my brother, which left suddenly at the beginning of the year in a car accident. And my first song this year...
You can see the translation of the lyrics.
Thanks again for these great words

It is real treat to recieve the romance and poetic philosphy of France here in our homes. Thank you!!! You are a fine singer and musician, this is a very beautiful work, with very great production. You really reach out to the listener intimately. Great metaphorical composition with words, wonderful cultural expression.

You've really got an engaging voice! The song builds slowly and steadily and by the time the accordion comes in it's almost impossible not to enjoy this song. Such nice songwriting - especially like the atmosphere you create, reflective, tragic even but full of hope. Really beautiful!

I deeply feel for your loss Marc and again, send you my sincere condolences. I am certain letting out some of your emotions (which I can hear you have done) in this song has helped you take those steps towards coming to terms with it all. It is a fabulous tribute to your
brother. Really special. He would have loved it
and I cannot begin to understand how difficult it was
to write, record and perform a complete original piece
for him, but you have succeeded my friend.

Thank you very much for your kind comment and for all, my dear Alan.
Yes, it was difficult and too long to write this. So dull that I had abandoned till you invite me to collab in Pusky Dusky, happy recreation...
So, it's thanks to you if this song is completed today, your project gave me motivation to take my microphone out of its packing.
Chance or happy coincidence, peu importe, encore merci Alan !

Marc, every element here is just lovely, but your vocal performance is especially terrific, filled with emotion, yet never melodramatic. French is such a beautiful language for singing. I grew up listening to Charles Aznavour, from the time I was a little girl, and have always loved men singing in French.

Best wishes to you and your family for the loss of your brother. I'm very sorry. Thank you for this beautiful song.

I was in a therapy session this very afternoon.... &mdash 07/13/07 - 10:30:29 PM
...with a client who, among other things, talked about the peace he finds in fishing... and the particular quality of the silence that goes along with fishing...

And yesterday, in a treatment meeting, with a different client, we were talking about what a great thing it has been for him this year to have discovered...wait for it...fishing...

Fishing. It must just be in the air today.

This reminds me of an old Bruce Cockburn song, just a bit... Got to think of which one...'Badlands Flashback', I think...

Nicely written, nicely sung, and nicely played...

Ed, so that I see, you talk much about fishing with some clients, maybe you will become a specialist ! Maybe you are it already ?
My brother was impassioned by fishing, sometimes it took me along with him, we left the morning very early and we passed good moments together, in peace and silence...
Thank you to take the time to listen and give me your comment.

Very beautiful musical imagry is conveyed in this piece. Emotionally coloured instrumentation accompanied by a reflective and at times meloncholy vocal line.
You have succeeded in creating a piece that is both lyrically articulate, rife with melody and a delivery that trancends typical musicianship.
