this does have kind of a medieval feel to it, like the guy is working in metal and has to get his rear end in gear or else the town leader is gonna get on his case :)

cool origin sounds, like the oriental sounds as well.

this project has been dormant for months. i finally finished it.

most of the sounds were recorded in my kitchen - i think my wife might have been re-evaluating her opinion of my sanity as i went around hitting, tapping, scraping cookie sheets, pot and pans, forks, knives, and whatnot.

thanks

Cool mechanical ambient sounds... I like this...

i almost titled this "kitchencounters" due to the sound sources.

but "mess" can refer to a kitchen as well as a disorganized state...

thanks

Very unexpected &mdash 07/14/07 - 05:58:56 PM
and interesting. This has a soundtrack feel to it, and a nice sense of rhythm that (don't ask me why) makes me visualize the opening credits of a heist movie (snippets of scenes of the protagonists stealing stuff/escaping from prison etc.) As I say, don't ask me why! Nice. Peace.

well, i must say i don't get that visualization at all.

but that's OK - i count it as a success if i evoked any sort of imagery at all.

thanks!

Money.... Bill, this is cool. You get random sounds and turn them into a perfectly synchronized melody. You're a genius, i just know it.

this thing started way back in the winter... i finally pulled it together. it took lots of time to clip out each sound, sync each to the beat, arrange them into a drum-like pattern. finally, i just put the whole mess together into something...

glad you liked it!

thanks

You are always trying to match the right graphic with your pieces. This is a great match. Some real musical alchemy going on with all these odd sounds making a pleasantly entertaining piece of music. Keep 'em coming Smokey.

Great tune Bill. I just got back from Europe and this is a neat reentry. I also heard the Floyd's Money in the very beginning.

it's funny, i never thought about PF's Money - but now that folks mentioned it, i guess i can hear it too... their influence on me must run pretty deep.

thanks

Also has a bit of humor to this as well.

Very imaginative.

Very masterful &mdash 07/20/07 - 01:38:53 AM
use of random sounds. I can hear trains as well as other rhythmic contraptions. Excellent.
Cheers
Len

Good Mix &mdash 03/05/08 - 06:34:30 AM
Good job of mixing "traditional" instruments and electronic sounds. Innovative sound!
