It's definitely melancholy - no doubt about that. When I started this collab with Benny he suggested something with a country flavor. I was out of town with only my laptop when I put this together so I went for loops and banjo was as close to country as I could get. Then I found the yodeling and things got strange. When I got home I added the strings and played the bass line on my Ibanez. I thought Benny would rap over this - but he took the trip hop route - which I think worked out really nicely. wait a minute I started listening to this before I read the description and I was thinking, man this sounds familiar but I know I havn't seen that pic before. First of all, any non-traditional yodeling song that has yodeling in it is just all right with me. SmokeyVW mentioned the dissonance between the banjo and the rest and i think that is what makes this song. My dad called it 'rub'. Nice jam!!! This had a cool, "just hangn' out and jamn' the way everyone felt like doin it", feel to it... Ya certainly got a ten on the creativity ranking. Quite the intersection of grooves, ya got goin on. It definitley took me places that I hadn't been any where near, before. A place where music is one of few things that could have presented the ticket for that trip, and with good side effects. The deep synth bass treked just the right path along the way. Dign' the beat, too! Lot's of good happenings there. Like yodel man was having a good time experimenting w/ things that should only be tried in the comforts of one's own home. Eh eh eh... Banjo man was messn' around w/ some cool stuff too. Okay Bud - Now you just won the award for the coolest quirk of all! Very nice groove. Nice job - both of you! Thanks!
