Keywords:
space (125)drone (12)
Description:
Just some ideas thrown together. One is that I wanted to use some samples from the Sounds Found Project; that's the talking and shouting. Secondly, I wanted to make someting ambient by combining a pedal point and a (sort of) cantus firmus. Throw in some random bleeps and burbles and you have a track....

Lyrics:
mumble mumble shout shout

Very &mdash 07/16/07 - 01:20:40 AM
relaxing groove. I love the way it builds from the 'tuning up'.
Cheers

Some pretty cool "ideas" together! This took me far and away Vic. I gather that it is suppose to? This is some really nice work, you ought to throw some of those "ideas" together more often!

Kudos,

Alvin

Great mix Vic..... &mdash 07/16/07 - 10:42:59 AM
I love this sort of stuff, Vic.

I promise that I'll pay more attention to your stuff in future when it scrolls up the music page here on MJ's.I usually just scroll down to each one and listen if I know who the artist is or not, every time I access MJ's, and so I'm surprised that I've missed your tracks.

I'll also be taking a look/listen to your other stuff.

Take care.

Paul.

Open Space &mdash 07/16/07 - 03:33:19 PM
The suspense was killing me (for some reason I was expecting...I don't know what even)! Until I just gave in and enjoyed the soundscape. Subtle and delicate and I like how the voices are woven into the music. Very tasteful, and with a melody floating over the whole cloud of calm, giving me something to hold on to every once in a while, I could listen to this forever!

Fascinating &mdash 07/17/07 - 03:42:28 PM
What an interesting concatenation of sounds. I love how it starts up with an unidentifiable and vaguely ominous soundbed and then continues to twist and turn. Lovely ethereal mix.

a dreamscape &mdash 07/18/07 - 01:00:00 PM
wow - this is really a dreamscape. i like this a lot on listen number two.

for some reason that big long tone felt like it was leading to some dramatic resolution - yet that never happens. it's OK in the long run, but it led me to feel tense rather than relaxed. perhaps that was your intent? (i think it has something to do with the notes that led up to the long tone... they made it feel unresolved.)

excellent!

thanks

Love this track - could have been &mdash 07/23/07 - 08:57:08 AM
in 2001:Space Odyssey. Have you heard the version of Beethoven's Ninth that was slowed down to last 24 hours? You did a really good job of keeping this from getting cluttered - great restraint and good ears.

Beethoven &mdash 07/23/07 - 09:49:34 AM
Yes, I heard part of that live. It was played at SXSW in Austin last year. It ran from noon to noon. I listened to the first hour and a half of it, which is something like 3 minutes real time :-)

The composer was present and I talked with him. Nice guy, and interesting ideas.

I was tempted to come back at 3am to hear the tenor entrance, but in the end my bed was too comfortable :-(

Cantus firmus... &mdash 07/24/07 - 11:50:18 AM
Wow, haven't heard that term since my college days! How 'bout a little Musique concrete! Nice stuff here. Really haunting little piece. Thanks!

So... &mdash 07/28/07 - 06:13:46 AM
Atmospheric, like coming out of a deep meditation and beginning to hear the sounds around, while yet still in the 'other' place. Wonderful relaxing piece, M

half dream &mdash 08/05/07 - 02:16:07 PM
half meditative trance. I for one love love long deep synth pedal tones, flecked with ambient fx and other sonic morsels. This one gave me my fix for the long run. I can see it as the opening for a Floyd show. Outstanding.

Love the build up too very exciting, some really good effects
of anticipation about what's' coming next really intererestng sound effects
Suspense was killing me too. worth it though, Drifting along
or just floating above the universe. Voices do work well to.

I am no expert but know what my ears like. And they love this also.
another for my Ipod thanks.

Dee.
