Description:
The sound reminds me of old school 80's arcade games and home games. No actual game sounds were used, but if you use your imagination, there's definitely a "Revenge of the Gator" (GameBoy) and "Ghettoblaster" (C64) type sound to this tune.

this has ellements of those games in the 80's and captures the vibe... but this is way hipper than anything you would have heard on those games... I was on the road in the 80's and had mastered mis pacman... if you drove across I-80.. my name was at the top of the scores at each rest stop... my bandmates used to sit waiting in the bus while I played... What a knuckle-head... there are some things that you wish you could get back and do differently...

listening to this brought that all back

Great production Doof &mdash 07/17/07 - 07:54:53 AM
I like the level of crunch and crust - kept it funky and dirty. The slow bass under the break is really cool - also the descending tone. Thanks for posting. Fun track.

You are an amazing whiz at coming up with cool music, but also with tweakin-da-synth to rebuild many of the classic 8-bit sound effects of our youth, with a smirky twist. Great fun, as usual, and a very well-constructed piece of music, from beginning to end, flows well, nicely balanced. There's a little too much distortion/bite on the main synth at the very beginning for my taste, but that's pretty minor. So, are you going to go see this movie about Donky Kong champs (http://www.apple.com/trailers/picturehouse/kingofkong/)? :-)
ttfn,
Drakonis

I enjoyed those games and this is a great reminder. Fun mix of the old game sounds. Thanks.

Defender, Robotron, Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pac Man, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Crazy Climber, TRON, Centipede, Battle Zone, Berzerk, Phoenix, Galaga, Frogger, Burger Time and Missile Command! Oh yeah! I just mentally walked through the game room where I spent most of my spare time as a kid.

When Chuck E Cheese opened in 1981, I challenged everyone on any game for the title of Game Room Supervisor. Let me tell you just how cool it is to walk around with a red plastic bowler hat and a pair of keys to every machine. I had tokens in my pocket. A real lady killer.

Life was but a dream. I guess it totally influenced the noises I make today.

Thanks Doofy. You are amazing. Congratulations to Mrs Doofy.
