Description:
As usually happens when I set out to create a composition, one improvised track led to another, which led to another, which led to another...

The flute track was added last, and while I thought I could build more instruments onto it, I decided to leave it as is for now :)

This could &mdash 07/18/07 - 01:40:50 AM
easily be part of the score of a lavish film. I see a beautiful landscape with the camera flying. Very well done and quite like the space of it, I don't think it needs more.
Cheers
Len

Longing &mdash 07/18/07 - 04:39:05 AM
As usually happens when i listen to your music, I am moved by it, and amazed at your ability to improvise music of this quality. For me, the composition process is almost always slow and painful; "I think we do it because we are masochists," a composer friend of mine told me recently. But you seem to come by this very naturally, which is wonderful.

Like lengold, I too don't think you need to add anything to it= it seems complete as it is. The only thing that I might suggest is the thing I almost always suggest, and that is to have it grow into a longer piece, while acknowledging that it isn't really necessary to do so - it works fine as a kind of musical vignette. Very pretty, but filled with longing.

a 4/4 waltz? &mdash 07/18/07 - 03:32:00 PM
The pizzicato strings in the background gave a 4/4 feel, but the bowed strings over the top gave almost a 3/4 feeling melody, which was very interesting, gave it almost a slow wavy feel... the minor harmonies and slow theme really tug at the heartstrings, very nice bit of melancholy there! Nice short piece (I can't handle long periods of melancholy just now, so the length was perfect :-) ) Oh, and as usual, pretty photo you took there!

Sky paiting... &mdash 07/18/07 - 04:04:31 PM
Very emotional...
I love the picture that you put with it. I was imagining that the notes were painting the sky with the colors...
Lovely...

Lovely Pastel.. &mdash 07/19/07 - 03:02:29 PM
music to go with the pastel colours in the photo. Great meditation music evoking a very pensive mood and as Composerclark said, I would have loved more as it is, but maybe the 'more' could be the same, but 'filled out'. Love it as is though, M

Thank you! &mdash 07/21/07 - 11:01:19 AM
Thanks to all who have taken the time to leave comments here, or to add a 'favorite' to this song.

I've not had time to reply to every comment lately, but I hope you all know how much it means for me to be able to share my music here with you.

Making the music brings me joy, but knowing that others who listen are enjoying it too expands that twofold.

Thanks so much again :)

This is just beautiful. As a musician with a tendancy to over do everything, I so appreciate your ability to stay on the understated side, letting each instrument really shine. Thanks!
