Description
This is a variation (in some ways) to my original 'Hope' mix from some time ago.

It has elements of HipHop and other genres so is not really D&B 100%.

Let me know what you think.

when
D&B is very fast...145-168bpm. It is an Afrikan/Raggae beat spead up. this appears to be 120bpm. I personally prefer 145bpm. many highs and very tight snares. It's like I told another member... record the HIGHEST fidelity possible. 1) Adjust the low ends first (800-1000hz) towards the center. 2) Adjust your a-attack, b-release, c-ratio. 3) Lower the threshold. 4) Repeat ALL above for high ends. 4) Tune threshold on both channels. 5) Gain together. 6) Tune dry and wet mix. 7) Reverb and delay. 8) Gated reverbs on toms.

Thanks again.........
Thanks once again for taking time to leave me all the technical information and advice.

I personally don't take things this seriously and it probably shows in my music but it's just fun for me and if I want to produce mix A in one way, then I do that.

Bear in mind that if everyone stuck to the centre of the road nothing would change or develop much. I prefer to live life on the edge, thereby being flexible, where possible or necessary.

To me music is music not compartmentalised genres, that limit as soon as anyone uses them.

I will give your musical offerings a listen over this weekend.

Take care.

Paul.

Thanks for stopping by......
I am very happy that you will be stopping by again, to listen and maybe leave a comment or two.

I do appreciate when someone takes the technicalities of their art so seriously. I have never done this, and even when I read books, I have up to 7 being read, in any order, at any one time. It's just the way I do things.

You have a wonderful gift and talent. MJ's is a perfect place to share the results of this talent and proficiancy.

Take care.

Thats a great vision you have there....
I like the idea of your vision Michael. It tends to put this mix in perspective.

I tend to resurrect some of this older stuff sometimes, as a potboiler between more recent stuff.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
