Description
This was fun! My first ever entry to an MJ thing. Enjoy...
I took the opportunity to not sing and not to play any real instruments, this is all done with mostly GB v3 and it's loop library..there is just one DoD drum loop and a couple of TuMI free loops too (harp+)... oh and then there is the bell chimes sample from EXS24 in Logic Pro 7 and the royalty free bodhrain loops from Computer Music issue #63 .. oh and not forgetting the touch of baroque harpsichord :o)
For those who don't know about this game, check out: Voice4choice and the source of Rebsie's vocal was from V4C01 Female A 75bpm although I went for 139 BPM and used a fair amount of loops in the key of D. Here is the forum thread.
The lyrics were written by Thomas Moore (1779-1852) .. he was a slow writer :o)
Oh and I made the cover art with Spooky Times Gravestone Generator and resisted putting in a black & white minstrel and a packet of chocolate minstrels with photoshop. :o)

Lyrics
The minstrel boy to the war is gone,
In the ranks of death you'll find him;
His father's sword he hath girded on,
And his wild harp slung behind him;
"Land of Song!" cried the warrior bard,
"Tho' all the world betrays thee,
One sword, at least, thy right shall guard,
One faithful harp shall praise thee!"
The Minstrel fell! But the foeman's chain
Could not bring that proud soul under;
The harp he lov'd ne'er spoke again,
For he tore its chords asunder;
And said "No chains shall sully thee,
Thou soul of love and brav'ry!
Thy songs were made for the pure and free
They shall never sound in slavery!
In the ranks of death you'll find him;
His father's sword he hath girded on,
And his wild harp slung behind him;
"Land of Song!" cried the warrior bard,
"Tho' all the world betrays thee,
One sword, at least, thy right shall guard,
One faithful harp shall praise thee!"
The Minstrel fell! But the foeman's chain
Could not bring that proud soul under;
The harp he lov'd ne'er spoke again,
For he tore its chords asunder;
And said "No chains shall sully thee,
Thou soul of love and brav'ry!
Thy songs were made for the pure and free
They shall never sound in slavery!
