Song Description
Waiting For Harry
|
Pretty funny &mdash 07/21/07 - 04:45:41 PM
At first I looked at the picture and thought we were waiting for Harry Truman - that would somehow make sense with you - but then I thought maybe we're waiting for Harry Potter like the rest of the western world - but then I didn't really get any clues from the music - so I just decided to dig the beats and the loopy flutes and enjoy this very perky number. Nice touch with the doorbell at the end. [ Reply to This ]
you're a wizard &mdash 07/21/07 - 05:13:02 PM
yeah, well, it is about waiting for Harry P --- Partch! B^) --- not really, just our wizard friend 'Arry.
my wife was on tenterhooks - that's what the doorbell and my voice at the end is all about...
thanks! [ Reply to This ]
clues &mdash 07/21/07 - 05:16:41 PM
oops, forgot to say:
mostly it's only the nervous energy at 150BPM - but the opening sound is actually a veiled allusion... [ Reply to This ]
when it gets Harry &mdash 07/21/07 - 08:39:17 PM
give 'em lots of sugar. All those kids up past midnight.
Anyway cool track. How are you pumping these out at such a fast pace.
Really builds to a climatic end. But who is behind door number one? [ Reply to This ]

i've been building up a backlog of partially completed tunes that were stuck on various unresolved details. suddenly the solution to some of them appeared - so the floodgates opened...
this song needed a purpose - hearing the delivery truck and the doorbell did it for me.
you know i like build-ups: this one is no exception.
thanks

What an off the wall tune Bill...(in a GOOD way!) Nice groove and beat. Love the flute! Fabulous build-up towards the end! WOWZERS!
BTW: I'm waiting for Harry Morgan! (M.A.S.H. will be on shortly...)
Be well! [ Reply to This ]

great tune smoke &mdash 07/22/07 - 07:55:20 PM
I like the fact that the glasses fit harry P and harry T. I'm still waiting for a straight shooter like harry T to come back and lead us. Of course things are so screwed up in the world today we may need the MAGIC of harry P.

Smokey &mdash 07/24/07 - 06:38:08 PM
What's the name of that stringed instrument that comes in before the flutes? Nice choice, when that comes in this turns into something really different and "Smokey" :)
Opps, I have to answer that bell...
Thanks

i'm not sure which instrument you mean exactly, but perhaps it's that hammered dulcimer? it's a real instrument loop from JP2 remix tools - Eastern Wind Dulcimer...
thanks Bill,
Bill
