How do ya do it each note sung moving perfectly with each chord change! The back up vox ties it in and makes this piece of music stand out! Great lyrics also love the line sunlight rests behind the blind contemplation of night! You can think about that one line all night!

but it's to short. has a cool sound to it. Really liked the slap back echo you applied to the vocals. gives it a bit of a ethereal sound. thinking about it Elvis would do that at times in his early years.

Thanks for the comment! I usually lay down the vocal then tweak the sound. This time I set the main effects and monitored them while I recorded. It helped me play the sound a bit with my voice. Then followed with some fine tuning.

It was fun!

What a beautiful sound you have. You have really done some fine poetry here, and sing it well. Such a great metaphor for thoughts and ideas, the dome. Even if space is infinite, it will appear as a dome, becuase all distances are equal from the center, regardless of its location. If the universe is finite, it still appears as a dome, because we can't tell the distance to stars by looking at them. Allot to think about here. "distant thought" and "present thoughts" we may be one life among much more out there, but we all experience the same principles, maybe just express them differently.

I hear the early Dead sound Mike referred to - and there's also a bit of Devendra Banhart and the whole new Freak Folk scene happening. But more important than the comparisons is the originality of your vision and the purity of it's execution. Well done.

Lately, it's not been as much of an issue of how much, but rather what type of reverb to use. So this is a puzzle for me. I'm sure that if I can get beyond presets, I will make better progress.

I think this this is a really good song, but, as with some other listeners, it took me a while to get used to the degree of slapback reverb on the vocals... I read in the "What is your personal..." forum thread (which is how I found this!) that you're thinking of doing this again, with a different treatment, and I'd definitely be into hearing that!
