Description:
Song about Temo
The great leader who fell
re-posted with permission
from rc
its all mine he said
with a little help from my friends
what a great friend

Lyrics:
Temo
( by Rob Andrews and Tim DeVine)
Featuring James Calore on Trumpet

You know Temo use to really live life,
so don’t cry cause he’s gone, his memory’s still alive
and the bell toll where Temo go, the bell toll for Temo
Never leaving us behind.

In the misty morning low and slow we go
Across the impossible bridge, to ground zero
Cracking the earth open to repel inside
To the edge of a new world,
Temo pain to hide

Temo had to go and kiss the sky,
So Temo he go, way up high
Temo he go you know and kiss the sky

Now there’s a new day dawning and its burning bright
There’s a band of gypsies dancing circles in the sky
Trying to spin back the hands of time
In the new world Temo’s love survives

Most story been written full of deception and lies
and glory hounds looking for nothing they’ll never find
but Temo, he kiss the sky
and so love survives

Temo had to go

Great track &mdash 07/26/07 - 10:44:15 PM
What a great track. Love the vocal. Gritty, then smooth. Reminds me a bit of the singer for Blood, Sweat, and Tears.

The muted trumpet is very effective. Is that a loop, or one of you collaborators? ("Collaborators" sounds like the WWII French Underground Resistance.) (Or wait, that was who the Underground were against. Oh well.)

The keys player (which of you is it?) really knows his stuff. Well done.

The whole thing brings to mind Procul Harum's "Conquistador" from about 1972. Especially the trumpet.

hey John &mdash 07/28/07 - 10:34:18 PM
I did the music except the trumpet, and a piece of the final guitar solo.
Vocal (and guitar solo) is rcandrews
Trumpet is bass2x
second vocal is me
thanks for your great comment.

Very cool &mdash 07/28/07 - 04:46:54 PM
Nicely done, everybody. The vocals are great, full of soul and depth. The playing and the instrumentation are terrific. The trumpet is beautiful - soulful and rich, and the guitar and keyboards are perfect. Fantastic. Kudos to everyone involved. Peace.

Thanks, &mdash 07/28/07 - 10:57:32 PM
for introducing me to your music :). Definitely some great collaboration happening here. I'd only mention one thing (if I may :).... maybe its a production thing and maybe it's musicianship, but I'd like to see a bit more distinction in the soloing of the instruments. If you have too many instruments strutting their stuff at once, it can get a bit confusing for the ear. Other than that.... great job :)

hey man &mdash 07/31/07 - 12:14:25 AM
Thanks for the comment. I see what you mean about the soloing. At the end there is a lot going on.
I am guilty of that in my other tunes at times as well.
I've received similar words of wisdom in the past.

Check out 'Touching Down' I think the soloing is pretty good.

there are some great players there.
peace

hey I love when people check out the oldstuff &mdash 08/22/08 - 08:18:44 PM
This was a huge collab for me. It was the first time i collabed and I was learning as i went along.
RC was an awesome help
.
I asked him to sing on my last post(Do or Die) but he didnt get back to me. I need to look harder for him, he is a good old friend now...with a great vocal and he is a wonderful lyricist.

Thanks for your great support...
I love this song
it was RC inspired.
peace out
tm
