Great Point . That and maybe the south wouldve realized slavery is Wrong . This is an interesting mix now that I think about it. Reagge has long been a style preaching freedom from slavery . The civil war was fought over the same issue,......hmmmmm. Interesting cycle dont ya think ?

love the timing on those flam fills in the gaps/pauses
in Rebsie's backing. Bit of snipping her part to make it
a bit more snappy if I'm not mistaken too.
That violin sound is a bit 'scratchy' IMO though... athough I really like the additional 'dee doot' bit though ..lol.

in so many versions of the same song names i didn't notice you, sorry for that len.
NEVER in my life EVER i could imagine that one can make out of the most traditional irish song a reggae! unbelievable. i am raising the hut to you. not only for the result, which is great and so unusual. but mostly for the fantastic fresh idea :) i like very much the bass and that extraterrestrial close-tongued fiddle. and the ending (the bell) gives little scary feeling, which is very joyful in the contrast with the happy rhythm of reggae. very nice twist at the end. very good job :) [ Reply to This ]

len, you really did a piece of work on this ... this coulda been a disaster, but it's wonderfully playful! This works with rebsies vocals so well great drums, and a really chilled feel, which oddly works with the emotion of her vocal.
