Description:
nicole went out today, so heres a new one I just came up with. i used to have this bootleg cassette of keith richards playing piano and singing, so i was trying to go for that kind of vibe. i'm not very good at playing piano and it really shows when i use the midi piano, but i didn't want to spend a lot of time moving everything over by my upright (i should probably buy a really long USB cable).

i can never seem to get the vocal levels right, so they may get a bit louder in a couple of spots.

anyways, enough apologies for my technical imperfections. if i really thought it was that bad i wouldn't post it. someone tell me to shut up now.

Lyrics:
i'm a worried man
my life is slipping through my hands
we all got lives to lad
but somehow they've forgotten me

in a hurry to slow down
never worry, it's all here
whatever happened to all my friends?
they're out there, but they're not here

i'm not a hateful man
i'm living life the best I can
regrets take too much time
i'm best at living day to day

in a hurry to slow down
never worry, it's all here
whatever happened to all my friends?
they're out there, but they're not here

they're out there, dealing with their sorrow
they're out there, doing what they can
they're out there, like there's no tomorrow
and somethings gonna come their way

i'm a worried man
my life is slipping through my hands
we all got lives to lad
but somehow they've forgotten me

Hardware:
maudio 49e midi keyboard, intel mini mac, mxl usb mic,

don't worry &mdash 07/28/07 - 07:56:53 PM
Michael, in my opinion you would have to be what I think of as a songwriters, songwriter. In the way you can pull songs and lyrics out of the air and put them down so quickly.

This one has an image of the lone piano player, after the lounge has closed. Say good night Gracie.

thanks vic &mdash 07/28/07 - 08:11:06 PM
very kind of you to say. i got my piano tuned a few weeks ago (as tuned as it's gonna get), and i am worried that I may go on a piano jag.

cool &mdash 07/28/07 - 10:10:20 PM
I love this. you sound totally like Paul Westerberg (a total compliment). I saw your post on music you like and since I like everything you listed came to check your music. I'm glad I did. downloaded and saved. you have a ton of songs on here. I'll have to dive in - this was a good starting point.

for giving it a try. i love your stuff, been hecking it out for awhile. i don't really have a style (other than fast and loose), but i think we share some common ground.

Hit the spot &mdash 07/30/07 - 06:54:37 AM
I know the feeling. If a worried man ever needed some understanding company, this song will be it. No need to say stuff about your skills, they are up to par, and beyond. Especially your ability to write songs. Boy!

I love this song - &mdash 07/30/07 - 11:41:46 AM
and I'm really impressed with how well you pulled it off with prolly not much time to do it. The lyrics are great and your delivery is spot on. Besides Waits - I actually think I could here Rufus Wainwright doing this tune justice. Well done!

thanks bud &mdash 07/30/07 - 02:00:23 PM
glad you appreciate it. funny you should say Rufus Wainwright, I actually went and played with him a few years ago (he was looking for an everything guy); i really love his stuff, but he was an arrogant, mean spirited guy, so I left and gave him someone elses number. what a talent he is though. thanks for listening.

Feel Good/Melancholy &mdash 07/30/07 - 03:59:53 PM
I like the fact that all the instruments sound organic. That allows the simple melody and lyric to carry the song, as apoosed to the instruments carrying it.(am I making sense?) I like that fact that you had a definitive theme and explored it , themes are the hardest thing for me to find sometimes. Fruitful results through a small window of opportunity. Regards

Wasn't that a good idea &mdash 10/05/07 - 05:07:55 AM
I would have never heard this if it wasn't for my post. I'm glad I got to hear it. Beutiful ballad, and you voice is at it's best here. I can hear the emotion and the confidence in your voice.
BTW, your a little better than Keith regarding the singing. I think he would have been proud to have written this.

for giving it a listen, and your post was a good idea. sometimes it's hard to dig through everyones stuff. i started just downloading everything by an artist and putting it in a playlist that i listen to in the car (just so i don't miss any gems).
