Lyrics
Got a call, from a man the other day
I was lost for words didn't know what to say
Was the first time someone called asking for you
Since the day you decided to turn black n blue

I dunno man, lifes gettin dreary
If you can call it life, sans mon auxiliary
Ive come face to face with the idealist inside
He's startin to die, say goodbye with nowhere to hide

But let's face it I need your guidance now
You're still in my life so there's no need to frown
I got three days a week to live my life
The rest of them I'm putting down my knife

Now I'm starting to notice all the little things
The clouds in the sky and the grass that is green
I'm starting to change, i got nothin to combat
But they don't know that, they don't know about THAT

They say that horses need the wind
Its nip of knowledge their guide to the end
All heroes have a moral to withdraw
They seemed so pure but had one, small, little flaw

You are my painter, you are my conscience
I have my nightmares cuz it just doesn't make sense
They say you're gone like its crystal clear
But I don't buy it cuz my hero, he's still here

Verse 2

Where did the days go I got lost in the moment
I took you for granted you were gone in an instant
I'm not a perfect guy you made me see that
But I'm tryin my best now I can give you that

Broken words are all I can give
But you know I'll try while i still live
And all i know how to do
Is make music and this one's for you

Ramp to
Great song layout and performance. Snapwhips are a little too bright for my ear. The singing is really good. I'm not as crazy about the rapping...but that's just me. There are some really cool passages that sound like Euro Trance. Lyrics are straightforward but have roots deep in the heart.

jaw swing
I'm slow to accepting rapping as an artform. It's not you. You do it as well as the next rapper...or the previous one. Whatever...just jawbonin'. Carry on.

Very deep
This is great! The chorus vocals remind me of the speaking in "Six Days" by DJ Shadow. Very unique song that turns out great. This is so deep. It flows so well. You really will be big some day. coolness!

high marks for this
I'll have to differ with some of the observations. I love the rap part the most actually... Not too crazy about the singing vocals, but still your friend did a great job. Lyrics and melody are quite engaging. Mixing is great. An outstanding song overall. A download for me.

thank you!
i was a little hesitant about adding rapping because the song is pretty gentle and i dont have a lot of experience with vocals. im glad u enjoyed it! it means a lot to me.

dang!
Wow, impressed, I am! Pretty chord progressions -- i love the light touch on the keys. I like the contrast between the verse and chorus; it's unique. Forging your way thru the hip hop tangle and finding a unique approach -- the one that makes people say "wow, I've never heard a song done like that before", will have that lasting impression you're looking for. Very nice.

Very good post Danny
Craig has done your excellent music justice. I've always found rap to be hard to warm to, but this is an exception. Very good lyrics, excellent rapping and the singing's not bad either. Like Leon, the rapping is my preferred part. Excellent work - I'm very impressed.

love how the music
starts out. Like the two voices of differing what seems cultures. Interesting! Terrific use of percussion, especially the fast rolling percussion. love those haunting sections and how well it goes with the synth.

Lots of melody in this tune that really brings out a nice pop feel!

I LIKE it .... and I am not trimming it out technically or anything .. just sitting here on a Friday nite enjoying my Beer and listening to some tunes .... and this one sounds great to me!
